Between Two Names
Caught between T5 and Mustang.
Germany, 1979.

POSTS STORIES REELS

For 20 seconds, step inside 1979.
Watch it pass.
Step inside.
And let it take you along for a moment.

Original interior.
Original dashboard.
Original cassette radio.

No screens.
No digital displays.
No drive modes.

Just analog gauges, a long hood ahead and a 302 V8 doing the soundtrack.
Almost 48 years have passed since this car was built.

But from behind that dashboard, with the road moving beneath you and the V8 somewhere in the background...

1979 doesn't feel quite so far away.
It's still out here doing what it was built to do.

Drive.

Friday afternoon.
The sun is out. ☀️
The Foxbody is ready. 🦊

We could tell you where we're going.
But first we'd have to know.
Have a good weekend. 😎👍🏼

Apparently, this is what the kids are doing now.
So why not let the old pony have a go too?

Built in 1978.
Still keeping up with the trends.
Not bad for a Foxbody survivor.

Some things never get old.
They just become classics.

Sorry, I just had to. 😉

Sunday ride with the old pony.

Taking the T5 out into its natural habitat — the German Autobahn.

V8 humming.
All gauges in the green.
Plenty of road ahead.

No hurry.
No destination to chase.

Just letting an almost 50-year-old Foxbody stretch its legs.

All systems go.

Come a little closer.

It's a survivor from 1979.

Step inside, and almost fifty years feel a little closer.

The original interior.
The crack-free dashboard.
The old cassette radio.

Still here.
Still working.
Still being used.

Because preservation was never meant to mean standing still.

Preserved. Not Parked.

One of 312.

The numbers behind our 1979 Foxbody.

3,188 with this paint and trim combination.
13,666 with this engine and transmission combination.
1,907 were ordered through DSO 91.

And just 312 came with the T-5 Package.

Almost fifty years after it first hit the road, our Foxbody has found itself somewhere we never expected:

On a record cover.

“There's a Road Ahead” by One Minute Age was inspired by that feeling every old car owner knows.

Turn the key.
Hear the engine come to life.
Watch the years fade away.
And just drive.

Our 1979 Foxbody became part of that feeling, and now it's part of the cover too.

There's a Road Ahead.

Preservation isn't always about standing still.

Sometimes it involves a bucket, some soap and a little attention.

Almost fifty years later, the original paint still shines.
The original interior is still here.
The dashboard is still crack-free.

And the 1979 onboard warning system reports:

All systems are go.

Not perfect.
Not restored.
Just carefully preserved.

Clean and ready. Let's drive.

Almost fifty years later,
the ritual is still the same.

Wake up the V8.
Let it breathe.
Drop it into Drive.

And let the Foxbody do what it was built to do.

Go.

Sometimes you don't need a destination.

Just a key, an open road and a 302 V8.

No music.
No soundtrack.
Just the original sound of a 1979 Foxbody heading out for an evening drive.

Almost fifty years later, this still feels like a pretty good way to end the day.

A view most people never see.

Original 302 V8.
Original drivetrain.
Built in 08/1978 as a 1979 model.
Export DSO 91.
First documented in Germany in 10/1978.
First registered in 08/1979.

Nearly fifty years later...
It's still doing what it was built to do.

Almost fifty years later.
Still exactly what it was meant to be.
The more you know, the more you see.
