POSTS STORIES REELS

With so many new followers in the past two days (gods, that was a crazy ride, welcome everyone!!) I thought an introduction post is due!

Hi, my name is Bente (they/them). I‘m 30, non binary and pansexual, from Northern Germany! 🇩🇪

About my practice:
I‘m a Norse Pagan as well as a witch and a Trolldom (Scandinavian folk magic) practitioner. My heathen practice is a good mix of reconstruction and research as well as intuition. I love to work with spirits and my ancestors alongside the gods. My magical practice is very bioregional and green. I‘m also a big folklore and history nerd, which is reflected in both my heathen and magical practice.

More about my life:
I‘m in love with reading and learning. I love me a good documentary or history book, but I adore a fantasy novel as well. I love pole dance and needle work and DIY projects on my house. I feel most at home in a forest or by the sea. I‘m a huge introvert and get overstimulated quickly due to having ADHD, so I’m somewhat of a homebody and definitely prefer a night in to a night out. Tea is lovely, coffee is disgusting.

I will never cease to marvel at how bright the Full Moon is outside of the cities #dumbthingscitypeoplesay by @betweenfogandfen

I hope I won’t jinx it now, but it seems like I’ve finally found something that has a huge impact on my migraines. The past two months was horrible, with migraine attacks roughly every two to three days plus the long pro- and postdromal phases I was barely able to do anything. It really started to weigh on my mental health as well and my zest for life was simply gone. I had no energy to do anything and just constantly afraid of the next attack. On top of that my meds stopped working properly and suddenly have me major side effects. Perfect combination. But through my hours of migraine research I found out about migraine glasses, and turns out — they changed everything! I’ve been wearing them for the past 2-3 weeks and the difference is like night and day. I did have two attacks, but they were so minor that I only took some pain meds and it was fine. I had barely any symptoms apart from the headache, which was amazing! Turns out — it seems not to be normal to be this light sensitive 🤣 here’s to hoping that this positive effect stays! by @betweenfogandfen

Some things I’ve been doing lately instead of doomscrolling:
1. Thrifting. For example this Tiffany style lamp that I’m obsessed with!
2. Transforming an antique desk into a height adjustable standing desk
3. Gorgeous sunrises on the train on the way to the office
4. Embroidering a silly little queer goose for my best friend
5. Spending time with loved ones
6. Working on the greenhouse. Currently we’re putting in the floor. by @betweenfogandfen

Zugromantik.
Honestly my biggest flex right now is that I brought my phone screen time down to under an hour a day and I haven’t doomscrolled in more than a week. It’s a miracle to me and I’m embarrassed to say that I’m quite proud 🤣 it has one drawback though: I‘m so out of the loop on what’s going on in the world. So I decided to subscribe to a physical newspaper. This Saturday I’m going to get it delivered for the first time. I‘m officially a boomer now! I’ll eat breakfast on Sunday reading the newspaper 🗞️☕️ by @betweenfogandfen

Random plant tidbit incoming!

When you go for a walk in my area right now, you see this weird thing everywhere. It’s field horsetail‘s reproductive organ - the strobilus by which it releases its spores. Once done doing that, it will die off and the main part of the plant will grow instead. I think this is pretty cool. And pretty phallic. Which makes me believe that the two growth phases of field horsetail have different associations. I would absolutely use the strobilus for fertility magic. The main plant to me is way more saturnine and lunar.

What do you think?

Life right now…
is enjoyably slow. I got down my screen time a lot and turns out - not doom scrolling is amazing! I’m focusing on reading, playing roller coaster tycoon, renovating and working in the garden.
Spring has also finally come around and I can’t wait to go outside to forage again, let alone build my own witches‘ herb garden! by @betweenfogandfen
