Welcome to Beyond Athletics - a business I started to help former athletes take everything they learned from their sport and turn it into something they’re proud of!

As a certified personal trainer I’m here to help build you a program for your new fitness goals after sport, because athleticism doesn’t need to end when sports does.

✨I’m so glad you’re here, I’d be happy to answer any questions through my email alexairons@beyondathletics.co or Instagram DMs

Who I am -> how I got here!

After years of specialized training, practices, and goals, it’s easy to feel like there’s no point in working out anymore. I’m here to help you find the joy in exercise all over again (without training 3 hours a day 6x week).

If you’re tired of following random online workouts DM me ATHLETE and I’ll send you the details for 1:1 online coaching✨ by @beyond.athletics

If you feel slower than you used to, or you just want to build explosiveness, this post is for you➡️

Once organized sports end, it’s easy to shift toward only lifting heavy weights or following the latest fitness trends. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

But if your goal is to stay athletic—to feel fast, powerful, and capable—you need to keep training movements that build speed and explosiveness.

Incorporating jumps, sprints, and other powerful exercises can help you move better, feel stronger, and continue doing the things you love for years to come.

Here are 5 ways to stay athletic after sport💥

If you have any questions, or want a customized program built just for you and your goals DM me or email me at alexairons@beyondathletics.co

🧇🍓🍔🥗🍝🍎

Eating enough on your rest day is just as important (if not more important), than what you eat on a day of training!!

Reminder that food is fuel for your brain too😇😇

Huge thanks to @chomps for making it easy to get good protein on the go!!!

A good friend reminded me last week that you can’t control the cards you’re dealt.

Beyond Athletics was created to show what life after sport can look like, and that we’re all just figuring it out as we go. With surgery coming up, documenting my training and tips for being active in college may look a little different, but that goes to show that life has a funny way of keeping you humble.

If we could predict everything that will ever happen to us, life would be boring and ultimately have very little purpose. Let this be your reminder that even when life doesn’t go as you planned, look for the good and remember there are so many people rooting for you💗💗

For we live by faith, not by sight.

⚡️short on time?? Copy and paste workout below ⬇️

UPPER BODY

-warmup for about 5 minutes
- back: 3x8-10 lat pulldowns
- chest: 3x10 weighted pushups OR as many unweighted reps as possible (AMRAP)
- shoulders: 3x8-10 shoulder press (seated or standing)
- biceps: 3x10 hammer curls

If there’s time - Core: max plank hold, compete against your last time! + 30 second hollow body hold

Shake it out and stretch -> you did it!!!

Notice how we start out with larger muscles and move to smaller muscles at the end - this allows for the greatest energy to be spent on the larger muscle groups😊

DM me if you want any ideas for exercise modifications!

Discipline looks boring until you look at it across time.

Exercising feels pointless until you feel stronger and have more energy.

Studying is annoying until you understand what you’re learning.

Don’t underestimate the power of consistency over time🤍

Sometimes the outcome gets foggy but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening!!

As I work through a hip injury I try to remind myself that there’s a season for rest and a season for pushing through it. Wherever you are, don’t forget how far you’ve come🫶

Consistency > intensity

Don’t let the fear of not doing enough stop you from doing anything🤍

If you’re feeling sluggish, you might just need more food!!

In high school I was practicing 20+ hours a week, and in college I’ve learned so much about what it means to continue to stay fueled even without structured practice. Everyone is different, but I encourage you to hit your protein goals, don’t be afraid of carbs (they’re literally energy), and don’t workout without food in your system.

If you’re walking to classes, taking tests, have a social life, AND are working out, your body might need more nutrient dense food than you think.

I hope you find some snack/meal ideas in here, and let me know if you want full recipes🫶

Highly recommend @alohamoment for quick protein between classes💪✨

✨The more you appreciate the opportunity the less likely you are to resent the workload

I also highly recommend you lean on the people around you because your friends and family are there to support you!!

3 tips recap:

1. Keep your breaks as breaks - don’t feel pressure to be productive every waking moment because burn out is real

2. Keep a running list of everything you need to remember/do - this keeps your mind fresh for actual processing and learning (I use an online app that I have on my phone and laptop)

3. Don’t scroll through your notifications when you first wake up - the world will not collapse if you wait 20 minutes as you have time for yourself

Still trying to find the balance but for now this is a very typical Wednesday!

2 highs of the day:

1) It’s been so fun seeing friends and getting back into a routine
2) I really am so interested in everything I’m learning this semester

And because social media is just a highlight reel:

2 lows from the day:

1) there was no A.C in the gym today so it was very hot😅
2) I wouldn’t trade my schedule for the world but it can get overwhelming sometimes

Find your people and take it one day at a time🤗
