“The Tempest” -2024 Directed by Scott A. Harman Associate Director: @darci.ramirez Scenic Design by Me Costume Design by Katie Glenn Lighting Design by @dakota.fontes Sound Design by Scott A. Harman Stage Manager Anna Compton Location: Interlochen Center for the Arts Venue: The Phoenix Theater So excited to finally be able to show the hard work that everyone on the “The Tempest” team had been working on all summer. This show was in repertory with “Matilda the Musical” This was my first time doing repertory theater along side being the first theatrical production I’ve designed and charged, so the process was a fun puzzle. Doing repertory with Matilda and The Tempest was a challenge but I’m extremely happy with how everything on all ends have turned out. Finding a balance between two shows that are extremely different with very different needs was hard but luckily not impossible! The concept for this design revolves around the idea of Adventure Parks. The parks are created by children and their families out of repurposed goods like furniture and wooden pallets. Something that was discussed for this show was whimsy, but also the idea of using repurposed materials to show that Prospera and Miranda had been making a life for themselves on this island and I believed that this idea went wonderfully with adventure parks. Here are a bunch of photos and a rendering in no specific order. So excited to show off my renderings I created for my themed entertainment class! The first three are concept art for a burlesque bar called the Nimble Nymph and the fourth is a rendering of an outside interactive pirate performance! Media: Procreate by @biancadec_designs
Riff Raff Final Look My final for costume rendering inspired by Eduardo Sicangco’s Frank n furter final look from his 1989 the Rocky horror show at the Cincinnati play house. I had such an amazing time creating this piece and designing it. I truly am so happy that this project was one of the last ones I’ve made at UNCSA. His work continues to inspire me and has definitely created a love for costume design and rendering. by @biancadec_designs
So happy to have had the opportunity to replicate Eduardo Sicangco’s rendering of the final look for frank n furter in his 1989 production of The Rocky Horror Show! He was such a big influence to me and my work and without him I wouldn’t have the skills or be the designer I am. I started my rendering journey at uncsa in his class, replicating his work and learning new techniques that I use to this day. I’m so happy to have had one of my last projects at this school studying one of his master pieces again. Even from this project I still am learning new genius techniques. And not to mention reminding me how fun glitter is. This piece means so much to me, it was the first costume renderings he had ever shown me while we were fan girling over rocky horror, which will always be a beautiful memory I have of him. by @biancadec_designs
So honored to have won the setc/David Weiss regional 1st place award in scenic design and region 4 outstanding design exhibit award for my Carmen!
