I started reading seriously in 2023 but thanks to my book club there was a sprinkle here and there when I had the mental capacity to join. I ended up reading some of them super late 😀 I just had to get out of a really bad living situation and a career that was sucking the life out of me to find the energy for a hobby that I used to enjoy so much as a kid. ❤️‍🔥

💫 What were your top 3 reads last year?! by @biancamoodreads

what are some books that have made you sob? 💝

books that broke me that i would definitely read again ✨

if you’ve been here a while you know that I love a book that makes me cry. For me, it is a true indicator of an author’s talent... being able to bring out such raw emotion through words isn’t as easy as you think! The books that stay with me the longest are usually the ones that make me feel everything alongside the characters. When a story can completely break my heart and still leave me feeling hopeful by the end, I know it’s one I’ll be thinking about for a long time. It feels like time well spent. There is also something really cathartic about it.

Of course all of these are 5⭐ reads.. if I book makes me cry there is usually not a way it will ever be less than 4⭐. by @biancamoodreads

books to read if you feel lost ✨ in honor of mental health awareness month- sometimes you just feel … lost… like something’s not right… maybe you’re rethinking every decision you ever made in your life… maybe you’re angry that you’re not where you hoped you’d be… ➡️ all of these books found me at exactly the right time, they were the hug that I needed or the lesson I needed to be reminded of…or they just made me feel seen when I sometimes didn’t even know I needed it.

don’t you love when that happens? 💞

Some of my favorites:
ONE ITALIAN SUMMER by Rebecca Serle
LOVE OF MY AFTERLIFE by Kirsten Greenwood
THE WEDDING PEOPLE by Alison Espach
DISAPPOINT ME by Nicola Dinan
EVERY STEP SHE TAKES by Alison Cochrun
NORA GOES OFF SCRIPT by Anabel Monaghan
CACKLE by Rachel Harrison
THE 7 MIRACLES OF BEATRIX HOLLAND by Rachael Herron by @biancamoodreads

✨What’s your favorite dystopian novel or series?✨

🍁my November @bookofthemonth pick is Defy the Dusk by Danielle L. Jensen! I absolutely am a fangirl for Danielle Jensen’s Saga of the Unfated duology (a fate inked in blood) so when I saw this on BOTM it was definitely credit worthy! Bonus points for the pretty sprayed edge special edition, of course.

I used to say I didn’t like dystopian, but I’ve read a couple this year and reread the hunger games and I think I was lying to myself 😂 One of my favorites is an indie novel called This Safe Darkness by Alexis Maragold— highly recommend picking that one up!! 🙌 by @biancamoodreads

Happy Monday ✨ Life update! We’re moving houses to help support family, but that means I get to fill these gorgeous built ins!! Myles and I have been slowly bringing things to the new house, and we just dumped all of our books in no order to be able to reuse some boxes and this was the end result 😂 The plan is for the manly non-fiction to go upstairs because ✨no✨. I can’t wait to organize and decorate and share lots of content in front of these babies!! This is me trying… by @biancamoodreads

October ✨ stressful AF but at least I read a lot of good books 🙃 by @biancamoodreads

✨Christina Lauren really knows how to write a bingeable book. I was hooked on this one from the start. I went in blind, and really liked the sci-fi aspect of the story, it felt like a fresh take on second chance romance after reading what feels like the same story over and over. The book really got me in my feels and I got teary-eyed a few times! Luca, sexy sweet Italian Luca, just yesss.

That being said, the FMC was pretty unlikeable but that was on purpose (I think?) and she kind of started to grow on me except for the fact that she is dumb as hell. I think Christina Lauren tried to do a little *too much* with this book, and so some parts of the thrilling storyline regarding compound Y fell short and super rushed at the end. I can’t say too much without spoilers, but some things felt so obvious that it was silly for the FMC to not realize what was going on or investigate further. It made the dramatic ending feel more farfetched. I still would recommend this one, especially to folks who are transitioning into the romance genre since there’s a bit of a thriller sci-fi esque subplot.

The Romance Revival- Christina Lauren
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Her One Regret by Donna Freitas

Synopsis➡️When successful Rhode Island real estate agent Lucy Mendoza vanishes, leaving her baby behind in a grocery store parking lot, the news quickly makes national headlines. Lucy’s best friend, Michelle, is devastated, and terrified that Lucy’s life is at stake. But she knows something that could complicate the police investigation. Lucy had confessed something unspeakable: She regretted becoming a mother, so much that she’d fantasized about faking her own kidnapping. If the police and media were to find out, Lucy would become a monster in public opinion. Michelle is sure Lucy would never abandon her daughter. But could she be wrong? Could Lucy have been so desperate she chose to escape her life?

Donna Freitas has drawn from groundbreaking research to bring readers this unforgettable novel. Her One Regret is at once a pulse-pounding feminist thriller, a moving depiction of the realities of motherhood, and a rich exploration of a subject our culture and society have rendered nearly verboten: the possibility that for some women, motherhood is an unfixable mistake.

With All My Haunted Heart by Isabel Sterling

Synopsis➡️
A witch hired to ethically haunt a small-town B&B instead finds herself spellbound by her non-magical client in this cozy and enchanting sapphic romance.

Steadily losing clients to the new DIY-magic shop on the other side of town, Pippa Ainsley is getting desperate. Instead of paying the witch to correct their magical maladies, local mundanes have been taking their chances with the cheaper—and unpredictable—crystals and herbal blends. So when Pippa’s best friend hires her to inspect his newly acquired bed-and-breakfast for ghosts, she doesn’t think twice about it.

That is, until she learns that his unfairly attractive co-owner, Elle Thompson, doesn’t want Pippa to rid their business of spirits. She wants Pippa to give them an edge over the competition by haunting their B&B.

It’s the perfect challenge for Pippa’s experimental magic, but just because she could figure it out, doesn’t mean it’s a smart or s by @biancamoodreads
