We're small on purpose. 💙

A tiny independent imprint in Bengaluru, making picture books for Indian children 0–7, each one edited, illustrated and fussed over by hand. When you buy a Big Beetle book, you back Indian stories and Indian makers.

A child reads faces and pictures long before a single word. 💙 That's the first teaching, and the reason we fuss over every spread.

खाने में क्या है? The four words every Indian kitchen hears a hundred times a day. 🍲

Two of India's most respected children's-book honours, one quiet, tender story. 🌱

A Tree in My Stomach was short-listed for Valley of Words 2025 and long-listed for the BK Award 2025, for giving children's big, unnamed feelings a shape they can finally see. Ages 3–7.

Starting a baby's library? Begin here. 👶📚

Our three board books, Ooi Ooi Ooi, Mr Peekaboo Rat and Gaadi Ki Ek Aur Savaari, cover a 0–3's first feelings, first games and first favourites. Built to be chewed, dropped and loved.

Ooi Ooi Ooi or Ouchie Ouchie. Baksa or Boxy. Khane Mein Kya Hai? or What's for Lunch? 🗣

Many of our books live in two languages at once, because the same story should reach a child whether it's told by their mother or their nani. Language is belonging.

Which language do you read at home? 👇 Link in bio.

A small list, on purpose. 💙 Every Big Beetle book has to survive the hundredth read, the real test any parent knows. If we wouldn't want to read it again at 10pm, we don't make it.

Which book can you now recite by heart? 👇
