The incomparable @cricket_blue are releasing their much-anticipated album “Sweet Animal” tomorrow (Friday, September 18) - many of the overdubs for this record, like strings, bassoon, brass, drums, bass, and more were recorded here at Big Lake Recording Co.

Their fourth and final single “Landfills, Gardens, Nurseries” came out a few days ago- here are some behind the scenes videos to commemorate that epic production!

Alice Grace - “Periphery” and “When You’re Asleep” were released independently on all streaming platforms July 17, 2026.

Personal note from Dan - * @alicegracemusic has been cooking an absolutely incredible set of new songs with her band at Big Lake. Resident recording wizard @ianjsteinberg has joined the band and facilitated the collaborative production, tracking, and mixing of these songs in house. Mastering was expertly handled by @wilderfoxstudio . The band includes Alice’s brother @oskavelli on drums, @ben_dexter.fm on bass, and @ianjsteinberg on guitar and synths. Group vocal harmonies are very much involved as well. These songs have been completely stuck in my head since I first heard the band rehearsing them, and now they’re out in the world in a glorious, fully formulated and baked form, and people can finally hear what I felt like was my personal Tuesday-night band for the past few months. There’s much, much more to come from Alice and her band- this is a serious Burlington gem in the making. It would mean the world to the band and to our studio for you to go like and follow and subscribe and download or whatever on your streaming service of choice!*

Excited to announce 7/24 is the release show for "Forager" at @biglakerecordingco with an incredible bill! Lots to look forward to on this night, mark your calendars. I'll be performing some pieces from the album along with some improvised work. Tapes will be available.

@lukefromnashville will bless us with ambient pedal steel bliss on his northeast tour. I've admired his music for a long time, what a serendipity to have him in town for this. @the_discussions will open the night. Greg and crew never disappoint, always something new, always blending so many influences into their compositions.

@vanishworks will be on live projection visuals, casting magic onto the walls. And dear friend @ianjsteinberg will be generously hosting us at my favorite studio, Big Lake Recording Co. hope to see you there ♥️

Killer drum setup this weekend for @mollyonthedrums with Matt Avery for his new LP. More pics to follow. I accidentally took a pic with a regular 57 but I actually landed on the vintage Unidyne (RIP Sergei) on snare top. by @biglakerecordingco
