Y’all ever get lost in the sauce? That’s how we feel over here watching this gluten development. We definitely have never made ourselves dizzy watching the mixers. Never. #gluten #bread #sourdough #bakery #sauce by @bigskybreadcompany

A privilege to be part of @longwoodgardens Field and Flame Culinary Experience at Granogue Estate! Spectacular views served with open-flame cooked meals, excellent breads (of course!), and ticket sales benefiting conservation, sustainable agriculture, and regenerative farming. Thank you Chef Will! @wbrownra #longwoodgardens #sourdough #dupont #sustainability #bread by @bigskybreadcompany

When you get to know your vendors, you’re doing more than just shopping. You’re building a relationship with someone who likely woke up at 5 AM to harvest that lettuce, bake that bread, or pack up the goods they’ve spent hours making.

Even if you’re not ready to buy, stopping to ask about their product — what it is, how they made it, why they do what they do — means more than you might realize. You’re showing them that their work matters.

✨ According to a 2023 report by the American Independent Business Alliance, local businesses recirculate significantly more money within the local economy than national chains. That ripple effect helps strengthen communities, support local jobs, and keep more resources close to home.

And at a farmers market, that impact goes even further. Supporting local farmers, bakers, and makers helps create greater access to fresh, nourishing food while strengthening the relationships that make a community healthier.

We believe preventative care starts with what’s on your plate — and who you share your plate with. The more connected we feel to our farmers, bakers, makers, and neighbors, the more opportunities we create to eat well, move often, and take care of one another.

So don’t be shy — take a look, stop by, ask questions. This table (+ every table at our market) has a story worth sharing.

One of our favorite stands at the West Chester Growers Market 🥖

We stopped by Big Sky Bread Company to chat with Andy about their bread and learn more about what they bring to the market each week.

If you’re in West Chester, make this your sign to grab a coffee, stroll the market, and pick up something fresh and local for the weekend.

📍 West Chester Growers Market

🥚Fresh from the Harvest Market Kitchen, Herbed Egg Salad!
Lunch time just became easy with the help of our new elevated Herbed Egg Salad! Packed with 14g of protein per 4 oz serving, this delicious dish features locally made Sauder’s organic hard boiled eggs and organic Kewpie Mayo. Our egg salad is simply seasoned with aromatic organic chives and dill. For a perfect open-faced sandwich, we recommend toasting a slice of 7 Grain Sour from Big Sky Bread Company, adding a bed of fresh lettuce for the egg salad and topping it all of with a sprinkling of fresh herbs.🥚
