🎉 by @bilgeince_

The London to Brighton event for this year has concluded. Due to some unfortunate events occurring around that time and the potential for stormy weather, I had doubts about participating. Nevertheless, I'm delighted that I decided to take part again! 😍 by @bilgeince_

The last two weeks have been intense. I’m exhausted, but every bit of it was worth it. 🧡

It all started in 🇹🇷 with @latentshift.ai! 🔥

Being both an organiser and a keynote speaker meant twice the pressure (and probably half the sleep 😅). But we had one clear message: AI demos are great. Show me prod!

And that’s exactly what LatentShift AI was all about: a full day of conversations, lessons learned, and real-world experiences of bringing AI into production.

The talk recordings will be available on our YouTube channel soon. Stay tuned!

From there, I headed to Valencia for PGConf EU, where I delivered two talks.

My message throughout the week was simple: AI is here to stay, and our traditional IT architectures will have to evolve with it.

Bringing AI closer to data can make systems more efficient and manageable, but it also introduces challenges, particularly around security and governance. Exploring these trade-offs, sharing ideas, and learning from the PostgreSQL community became the theme of my week.

Looking back, what made these two weeks truly special wasn’t just the talks or the conferences. It was the people. The conversations, the friendships, the shared passion, and the communities that make all this worthwhile.

To everyone who contributed, attended, listened, challenged ideas, or simply stopped by for a chat: thank you!

I’m heading home physically exhausted, but with a full heart. 🧡

Yapay zeka projeniz Notebook'ta kusursuz çalışıyor olabilir...

I took myself on a theatre date for Electra/Persona. It was electric. There are scenes from Nina Hoss while playing Elisabeth Vogler that are just etched in my brain forever. I was in awe of her. How she moved from one emotion to another under a fur coat, with a camera in hand, is beyond me.

Recently, I promised myself I’d go to the theatre, concerts, musicals, etc. even when there’s no one to join me.

Because sadly, this year my work/life balance has gone completely out the window. Work, work trips, more work, conference talks, more work. That’s pretty much what my life has looked like lately.

So, no more room for excuses. Just taking myself out 🎭🙌🏻 by @bilgeince_

A sub-2 half marathon was a dream that came true for me with Hackney Half. Although it feels wrong to feel good about something after my cat, I promised myself that my next run will be a fundraising event for a charity to commemorate him. by @bilgeince_

This is definitely for everyone but especially for those who is working in tech and AI field. It’s been a wonderful journey and food for thought. The book has given me the most important thing motivation for a purpose, working for a cause. This is going to be a book I’ll keep returning time to time even re-read.
.
Instead of negotiating cultural norms to protect this data, we have instead handed it off to a tech monolith to earn profit. Imagine if your lawyer auctioned off your legal documents to the highest bidder! Online, we do this every day.

This book is the past and the future. It starts with Internet and how it became something alive and moved slowly to today to machine intelligence era. How and why we should take this era seriously and sail away from attention economy to intention economy where we’re in control of our data and our attention. This book has given me so much to think and work on to contribute building my future.

The web has been transformative, the Al-powered web will be more transformative still. Yet the narrative on Al and the future more generally focuses too much on those ‘doomers’ and boomers’ instead of being framed by a conversation on how we want our world to be. This time, getting the design right at the outset is more important than ever before.
Our society is now discussing how to define the terms that will govern artificial intelligence and other new technologies. Will we have Silicon Valley dictate the terms of this arrangement to us? Or might we, as citizens, take a more active role in building something empowering - through our own enterprise? The window for action here is small, by @bilgeince_

Sevilla Marathon was my 2nd marathon and what an experience it was, all thanks to the wonderful company and the best support I can imagine. Running alongside a friend made the distance vanish - 30km flew by in no time. I improved my finish time by 30 minutes and achieved sub 4:30. It's really encouraging to see how far I've come with Sydney Marathon just around the corner. Now, my foot and ankle injuries need some rest before Sydney 🙌🏻 by @bilgeince_
