I’ve experienced SO many wonderful picture books that I felt other people would also enjoy, so here is the start of my Wonderful Books Wednesday recommendations!
.
The three for this week are: The Bright Side by @chadsbooks - The Note Who Faced the Music by @lindsaybonilla40 and @studiohoffmann - NO Is All I Know by @chrisgrabenstein and @studioespinosaworks
.
I’m confident you and whoever you share picture books with will enjoy experiencing these books as much as I do!

Happy New Year! I was honored to be asked to create the cover art for the winter edition of Kid LIt News which is the newsletter for the Long Island, New York, chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators ( @scbwi ). Extra points if you can spot the BOTH references to SCBWI logos in the background. (Swipe for close-ups)
.
A big thanks to Stephen Ingram (@stepheningram009) as well as Roberta M. Rivera and Debbie Vilardi for their help!

I really loved the first episode of Loki! I checked with several people and they all felt this illustration (which is in the style of a part of the first episode) was not spoiler territory. :)
.
@twhiddleston and @owenwilson_official were amazing and are just wonderful to watch together! You can tell everyone who worked on this show really enjoyed it and did a terrific job! If you haven’t already, go watch it now!
.
Main brush used is Classic Inker from The Liner Brush Pack by @retrosupply. As well as some others from that pack.

I didn’t get to finish my “May the 4th be With You” piece in time yesterday and decided not to post it, but then today I remembered that the Cantina on Tatooine serves Mole Poblano which as I understand it is one of the most traditional dishes of Cinco de Mayo! ;)
