Welcome Coach Christian Scarpello to the Towermen Family!

We are fired up to announce that Christian Scarpello is joining the Towermen Lacrosse leadership team as our new Assistant High School Director!

Christian brings an elite level of experience and a “scrappy” player’s mentality to our sidelines. A New Jersey native and former standout team captain at Rutgers University, he played in every single game (60 consecutive!) during his four-year career as a Scarlet Knight.

Before his time in New Brunswick, Christian was a premier three-sport athlete at Madison High School, where he earned First Team All-State, First Team All-Waterman, and First Team All-Morris County honors.

His journey has since taken him to the highest levels of the game:

PLL Champion: A 2022 PLL Champion with the Waterdogs and a veteran defensive midfielder for the Carolina Chaos.

Recent Gold: In March of 2026, Christian added to his trophy case by winning the PLL Championship Series Title with the Chaos.

International Stage: Proudly represented Team England in the World Lacrosse Championships.

High School Leadership: Most recently serves as the Head Coach at Chatham High School, where he led the Cougars to 27 wins over two seasons and was named the 2025 USA Lacrosse High School NJ Coach of the Year!

Coach Scarpello is dedicated to fostering the same grit and competitive advantage he’s known for in every Towermen athlete. His focus on high-intensity training and player development makes him the perfect fit to lead our High School program into its next chapter.

For the first time in 20 years, and 2nd time ever, Chatham has received the NJ State Coach of The Year Award!

A message from Coach Scarpello:

A friend and mentor, Steve Manitta, was the first to win this award in 2005 after laying the groundwork for this program. The other names associated with this award are legends in this state and I am proud to be a part of it!

Since taking over in 2022, Chatham has appeared in every sectional final, and in the Morris County Tournament Final (24, 25).

What makes me most proud is the culture established here in Chatham by my staff and the players. Common adjectives mentioned are “tough, competitive, and skilled”

I’d be remiss not to mention the youth program and the incredible coaches that prepare these men from K/1 and up!

Love this community. Go Cougars!

A message from Coach Scarpello:

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching JP through his 4 years at Chatham, watching him grow as a player, and a person. JP will go down as an all time great in the storied Chatham Lacrosse Program as a 4 year letter winner and a 2x Captain. John was an extension of the coaching staff and will be missed dearly as he gets ready to start his collegiate career at UVA.

His leadership, work-ethic, and team-first mentality is what separates him. Congratulations on all of your success - this program is indebted and grateful for the run.

Jersey Sports Group is proud to welcome Christian Scarpello to the family!

The Madison native plays Defensive Midfield for the @phillywaterdogs in the @pll.

A 2022 PLL Champion with the Waterdogs, Scarpello is a 2x Team England National Team player and 2018 graduate of @rutgersu, where he was a four-year starter for @rutgersmlax.
