![When social media censored breast cancer awareness, this campaign found a clever way around it.
In 2016, MACMA (Movimiento Ayuda Cáncer de Mama) teamed up with creative agency DAVID Buenos Aires to tackle an unusual problem: social media nudity guidelines were blocking clinical breast self-examination tutorials that could help save lives.
Their solution? Demonstrate the examination on a male chest to bypass automated moderation while delivering the same essential health message. The campaign turned a digital restriction into a powerful reminder that early detection matters and that men can develop breast cancer too.
Sometimes, the most impactful campaigns don't just spread awareness. They challenge the systems that prevent it.
Would you have thought of this creative workaround?
