Meet Patricia and Anne, two of our incredible @unitedby2022 volunteers. These two legends topped the leaderboard when it came to gathering the most festivalgoer feedback (and trust us when we say, your input has been hugely useful already!). We joined forces with @brumhippodrome to show our appreciation for their hardwork! Here they are collecting their theatre voucher prizes under our Roof of Stars in @southsidedistrict ❤️ Thank you to every volunteer and to each person who completed our evaluation - we couldn’t do it without you! by @birminghamlightfestival

This time last week I was putting the final touches to the first evening of Tasting Light, for our curious guests. A multi-sensory dining experience where light shaped the way we taste. Using candlelight and UV light, every detail explored the idea of illumination. Menus were printed on transparent paper (you needed light to read them). A welcome drink was served in handmade glasses, each individually placed on bespoke light boxes. The food nodded to light too — a carrot bias main (to help you see in the dark, of course 🥕), and a light-as-air dessert of lemon chiffon cake with luminescent elderflower and orange blossom gel. It was so such great fun developing this as part of Birmingham Light Festival. One I am keen to develop further. Here are a couple of BTS images to throw some light on the dinner, and to whet your appetite 🫦 GET IN TOUCH IF: You’d like to experience Tasting Light? Or maybe, you would like to hire this experience at your venue, or for a private party? #gulp #sensory #jq #jewelleryquarter #birmingham by @birminghamlightfestival

PAWS OF LIGHT 🐾✨ Dogs, lights, camera…walkies! Back for its second year Paws of Light brought together a glowing pack of pups from the @jewelleryquarter and beyond for a light up stroll through the installations of @birminghamlightfestival. There were tails wagging, leads sparkling, and plenty of four-legged photo moments along the way. This fundraiser for @birmingham_dogs_home was brought to you by our friends @cuddlepawsuk, who’ll soon be opening right here at The Goodsyard.
