Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported at work.

While employers have always had responsibilities to tackle workplace harassment, the Employment Rights Act 2025 has strengthened workers’ rights and increased employers’ responsibilities to create safer workplaces.

Here’s what that means:
✅ Sexual harassment is now recognised as a specific issue under whistleblowing protections, helping to protect workers who speak up.
✅ Employers are now required to help protect employees from harassment by third parties, including customers, clients, and service users.
✅ Employers must take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment, raising the bar on what is expected to keep workplaces safe.

Too many young women still experience harassment, discrimination, and unequal treatment at work. Stronger laws won’t solve the problem on their own, but they can help create safer workplaces and make it easier for people to speak out and be heard.
Knowing your rights is a powerful first step. 💜
