Bellows Falls, you have a new star in town! ⭐️ We wandered into @elsewhere.bellowsfalls on their SECOND night open… and WOW! They are already absolutely knocking it out of the park. We had the Veggie Stir Fry, Brisket Melt, and Cheesecake (with that glorious blueberry situation 😍), plus I had a Westminster Paloma to sip along the way. And honestly… everything was SO delicious. 🤌 The vibes? ✅
The service? ✅
The food? ✅
We hadn’t even finished our meals when we looked at each other and said, “Oh, we are definitely coming back!!!” There’s something extra fun about discovering a brand-new spot while it’s still finding its rhythm, and Elsewhere already feels like it belongs. From the cozy, quirky-cool atmosphere to the seriously delicious food, they’ve got something special happening. If you find yourself anywhere near Bellows Falls, Vermont, put this one on your list. A little Berkshire magic today. ✨ We started with the most delicious donuts from @pastriesbyhanna at the @gbfarmersmrkt - basically the correct way to begin any adventure. 🍩 The Apple Pie Filled one was like Autumn in a donut! Then we wandered the beautiful grounds at @themountlenox , discovering all sorts of unexpected treasures along the way. My favorite sculpture was “New Best Friend” by Colin Moore - the little boy holding the giant toad. 🐸🤎 And now a ghost tour at The Mount has officially made its way onto our bucket list. 👻 Afterward, we headed to Great Barrington to visit @themossycauldrongb . We’ve wanted to go ever since discovering it on Instagram, and somehow it was even more magical in person. 🌿🔮✨ One of the most enchanting little shops we’ve ever wandered into, and the owner, Jessica, was absolutely lovely. Donuts, woodland art, a little witchy shopping… pretty much a perfect day in the Berkshires. 🍂🧙‍♀️🐸✨ by @bitingintonewengland
I (Jessie) love to cook and bake with the seasons using local products. Dave and I have been devouring @scottfarmmarket plums so fast that it was a miracle I could save some for baking. Here is my delicious rustic plum cake! ✨ Locally Sourced Ingredients: Plums: @scottfarmvt Flour: @kingarthurbaking Eggs: @harloworganicfarm Butter: @vermontcreamery Milk: @kissthecowfarmandcreamery I might post more of my baked goods here to showcase some of the local ingredients we’re so lucky to have. 😊 by @bitingintonewengland
Is there anything better than a farm store haul? 🫐🍩🍯 Today’s goodies from @scottfarmmarket: fresh plums, blueberries, cider donuts from @scottfarmvt , lemon zest shortbread from @vinyetteshortbread, Vermont wildflower honey from However Wild Farm, and heavenly soy wax melts from @quiet.north. Supporting local is one of our favorite things to do, and we’ll never pass up a good farm store. What’s your favorite farm store? We’d love some recommendations! 🌿🚜 Fresh Cider Donut from @scottfarmvt. 😋 by @bitingintonewengland
If a sandwich makes your eyes roll back… that’s probably a good sign. 😂 We stopped at @mysticfishcamp and ordered the Tortilla Crusted Fish Patty with house-made chips (plus an order of Mermaid Fries because obviously). The fish was unbelievably fresh, perfectly moist, and packed with flavor. The crispy tortilla crust, crunchy slaw, and chipotle mayo all came together on that pillowy milk bun to make hands down the best fish sandwich we’ve ever had! Knowing they source local, sustainably caught seafood made us appreciate it even more - it really shows in the freshness. It was one of those meals where the conversation stops because everyone is too busy eating. Bonus points for the nonstop ‘80s soundtrack. Good food + New England coastal vibes + ‘80s music in the background? That’s a recipe for happiness. ⭐ Eye-roll worthy. Would absolutely go back! by @bitingintonewengland
We went to @townshendfarmersmarket at @thewesttownshendcountrystore for Friday Night Pizza - it was so fun and delicious! First pic: Regular pizza with sausage, peppers, onions, and spinach Second pic: Special Pizza - Butter Chicken The Butter Chicken pizza tasted like if you put the butter chicken in naan - it was so freakin’ good! We can’t wait to come back again! 🍕✨ by @bitingintonewengland
Took a whimsical afternoon walk in #GraftonVT with some delicious treats from @mktgrafton. ✨ (Butterscotch Toffee + Sea Salt Cookie and Raspberry Iced Tea) by @bitingintonewengland
If you are ever in #BrattleboroVT, stop by @lilacridgefarm and get one of their ultra yummy and perfect Summer creemees. 🍦✨ Pictured here is their maple and chocolate creemee twist. 😋 by @bitingintonewengland
There’s something special about wandering down a quiet Vermont back road and stumbling upon a place that feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The charming @originalgeneralstore was one of our favorite finds on a little local road trip this weekend. The moment we walked in, it had that old-timey, nostalgic feel that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. From locally made products to prepared foods crafted with local ingredients, it was the kind of place that reminds you why Vermont is so special. We ordered the Egg, Cheese & Sausage Sandwich and the Lumberjack with fresh strawberries for breakfast, and both were absolutely delicious. Simple, fresh, and made with care. Sometimes the best places are the ones you discover along the way. Have you found a favorite Vermont general store? 🍓☕ #PittsfieldVT by @bitingintonewengland
@luluicecream.vt was a delightfully delicious experience! They make unique, small-batch, farm-to-spoon, handcrafted ice cream and goat milk gelato using local ingredients. Their ice cream is creamy with the right amount of sweetness, and they definitely know how to make each ingredient shine. We got an ice cream flight: - Garden basil - Coffee - Seriously Chocolate - Breakfast at Tiffany’s (white chocolate ice cream with a strawberry ripple) - Bee’s Knees (salted honey ice cream) - Backyard Mint It was so fun and tasty! We couldn’t help but buy a pint for home. By the way, we got The Walking Dead, and we almost finished it in one sitting! It was THAT good!! 😋 #VergennesVT by @bitingintonewengland
We finally made it to @wild_fern_vermont after having it on our bucket list for so long, and it was every bit as magical as we’d hoped. ✨ Heather has created such a special place. We sat outside beneath the trees, where the woodland setting, colorful tables, rustic stage, and even a friendly Bigfoot made it feel like we’d stumbled into a hidden forest gathering. It felt less like dining out and more like spending an evening in a friend’s backyard - which we loved!! ❤️ We ordered the Wild Willie, and it was absolutely delicious!! Great food, a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, and the kind of place that invites you to slow down and stay awhile. We already can’t wait to come back, not only for more pizza, but also to catch one of the bands and experience the magic all over again. ✨ by @bitingintonewengland
Whenever we are near #WaitsfieldVT, we make sure to stop by @canteen_creemee_company to get their droolworthy Original Cluckster and French Fries. 😋 by @bitingintonewengland
