POLICE NEED TRAINING‼️ EX UFC Fighter Marlon Moraes makes an Arrest using MMA Skills😳🫡

Was this situation handled properly?

Comment your thoughts Below 👇

The reality is that many police officers are untrained & as a result, both the officers & the citizens are at risk because of it!

When you are mentally and physically trained to remain calm and act reasonably under stress, safety of both individuals becomes a top priority.

In this case Marlon makes an educated and very smart decision to use an Osoto Gari (Judo tripping technique) to safely subdue a potentially hostile individual and make an arrest.

IT’S OKAY TO GET SMASHED IN JIU JITSU!! 🥋🤝 (more below 👇)

If you are an aspiring mma fighter or a combat sports athlete looking to compete, you should not be avoiding the scariest round in the room. As a competitor looking to grow you are going to need everyone that is on the Mats with you from hobbyist to pro athlete.

As a young competitor, most of those rounds won’t go your way, and if you’re a part of a good gym they shouldn’t. However, if you are planning on competing, these are the rounds you should be seeking out NOT shying away from. These are the rounds that GROWTH happens! If you’re never getting smashed, you’re in the wrong place.

Avoiding tough rounds not only hinders your mental/technical growth because you’re only going against those you’re either better, or more athletic than, but also your spiritual growth as a martial artist in sheltering yourself from the courage needed when it comes time to compete. You practice how you play, and if you’re always taking the easy way out or favorable opponent for you on the mat, what do you think is going to happen when you meet a tough round in competition or on the street!?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay to be a little picky if you have a fear of that person injuring you from lack of control, (especially if you are a girl, I don’t expect you to choose the spazzy white belt that is 260 every round) but even the spaz is needed because they’ll keep you on your toes making sure the “self defense aspect” come first (which has been lost in translation with sport).

And don’t think this means you should seek the hardest/toughest round every roll/spar, you will also hinder your growth that way because if you’re never succeeding, you are also not figuring out what is working or not. Both go hand-in-hand
