Menopause awareness month. What I wish people knew! There are over 50 different symptoms, so tracking symptoms is really important. The Menopause Charity @themenocharity has a symptom tracker which is really useful especially when you go and discuss options with your healthcare provider. #menopauseawareness #whatiwishpeopleknew #CapCut by @blacknurses_midwives_uk

Meet the panel 💜 What is menopause? What might you experience? When should you seek support? What treatment options are available? And how can you prepare for a conversation with a health professional? On Thursday 15 October, members of The Menopause Charity’s Clinical Advisory Panel will come together for our live webinar, Menopause: What Everyone Should Know. They’ll bring their different areas of clinical expertise to an hour-long introduction to menopause, covering what menopause is, why experiences vary, when and how to seek support, treatment options, lifestyle, and how to prepare for a healthcare conversation. Whether you’re experiencing menopause yourself, supporting someone else, or simply want to understand more, this is a chance to hear directly from our clinical experts and ask your questions. 📅 Thursday 15 October, 7pm 🎟️ Book your place now (Link in bio) Can’t join us live? Register anyway and we’ll send you the recording afterwards by @blacknurses_midwives_uk
Happy New Month. We thought this would be a great time to reintroduce ourselves and the organisation. This picture was taken recently at the RCN Foundation Impact awards @rcnfoundation. This was a great event recognising our colleagues hard work, dedication and resilience. A huge congratulations to all the nominees and winners for 2026. (Left) Simphiwe Sesane @sim.sesane founder and CEO of BNM UK. Contraception and sexual health nurse consultant/medical educator. (Right) Katherine Mayambika @isthatkatherine director of BNM UK. Heart failure specialist nurse and passionate advocate for hypertension. BNM UK is a community of professionals including students, who are passionate about healthcare and are committed to sharing their experiences and career development in order to empower others to achieve their professional development. The main purpose of BMN UK is to continue to champion these professionals and through peer to peer support, to inspire, empower and connect other Black nurses, midwives and students. also highlight prospective nursing and midwifery careers that are not commonly spoken about for example careers beyond the bedside. We also share and raise awareness on health conditions that can disproportionately affect the Black and Brown community and supporting ongoing work addressing health inequities. #BNMUK #Blacknurses #Blackmidwives #Blackstudents #careersbeyondthebedside by @blacknurses_midwives_uk
We wish everyone knew… it’s not just about libido. When we talk about menopause, sex and relationships, the conversation can quickly focus on libido. But as Simphiwe Sesane, a member of our Clinical Advisory Panel, explains, it can be about much more than sexual desire. Menopause can affect how someone feels about intimacy, including kissing, touch and affection. And those changes can have an impact on relationships too. If this is something you’re experiencing, you’re not alone. 💜 Find more information about menopause, sex and relationships on our website. Justice and equality in women’s rights can feel like goldust but together we have the power to make tangible, systemic change. If you have endometriosis you have until THIS FRIDAY 31 July 2026 12pm to email endometriosisappg@endometriosis-uk.org, as part of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Inquiry. Your evidence can include: 1. What are the challenges faced by those with endometriosis in the workplace? 2. What recommendations would you like to see the APPG put forward to the Government? 3. Is there anything else you would like to add? If you filled in the APPG survey, created by Endometriosis UK in their role as Secretariat, you will know that it did not include a specific question about recommendations to the government so this is your opportunity to use your voice. Several members in the Strategic Action Network for Justice UK requested an extension to the deadline of 24 July 2026 12pm. Endometriosis UK have closed the survey but you can still email the APPG Inbox. Make sure you email endometriosisappg@endometriosis-uk.org by Friday 31 July 2026 12pm midday. All information in the post, any questions just send us a DM 🙏🏽 Who are we? The Strategic Action Network for Justice UK (SANJU), launched on 8 July 2026 with 25 founding members, is campaigning for systemic change in women’s rights across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Join the movement to unite voices, drive action and advance women’s rights @sanjusticeuk. We’re stronger together. Happy International Nurses Day 💙✨ Still reflecting on such an inspiring and meaningful event celebrating the incredible work, compassion, and dedication of nurses and midwives. It was amazing meeting so many people, connecting with everyone, and interacting with all of the exhibitors. Such a great atmosphere filled with passion, knowledge, and community in one room. And it was so lovely to also celebrate Simphiwe birthday too 🥳🤍 Thank you @blacknurses_midwives_uk for creating such a powerful space, delivering an amazing event, and for inviting Tyrone to be a speaker, which was his first panel talk outside of @sundaysipliveevent, was truly an honour to be part of. A beautiful reminder of the impact nurses and midwives make every single day. Thank you for all that you do 🤍🩺 #InternationalNursesDay #ThankYouNurses #ThankYouMidwives #blacknursesandmidwivesuk by @blacknurses_midwives_uk
