🤎🌊 by @blackpackerlife

Waking up beside Santorini’s iconic blue domes felt like living inside a postcard. 🇬🇷💙 Surrounded by whitewashed architecture, breathtaking caldera views, and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, every moment was magical. From golden sunrises to unforgettable sunsets, our stay in Oia was a beautiful escape into Mediterranean paradise. ✨

I flew over 7,000 miles to experience…THIS.

Some places you just have to see for yourself.

People often romanticize full-time travel 🤩 And it’s fabulous…until you’re months in and realize how EXHAUSTING it actually is! 🎒

The constant packing and unpacking. The (sometimes loud, smelly, or uncomfortable) hostels. Figuring out how to pay for public transportation. Still not fully understanding the menu even after looking at pictures and using a translator app.

Using Google Translate to do simple tasks like washing clothes or heating frozen dinner. Unlearning old customs to learn new ones and hoping not to accidentally offend the locals somehow. Converting currencies for the 10th time (because 500 Baht is NOT the same as 500 rupees!) Navigating unfamiliar cities (exciting as long as I’m not lugging my luggage around). And somehow making it to your next destination on time (or not)

And just when you finally get comfortable somewhere? Time to leave and start all over again 😅

Would I do it all over again? Absolutely, and recommend it to anyone who wants to do it! 🌍 You’ll learn so much about the world AND yourself, and if you’re lucky, you’ll also make genuine connections and core memories with others that’ll last a lifetime! But just a warning to be prepared to roll with the punches 😬

Would you or have you done a backpacking trip? Where and for how long? 👇🏽

SAVE + SHARE Charyn Canyon 🇰🇿
Charyn Canyon reminded me of my first travel photography gig in Moab, Utah. There’s just something about those massive red rock formations that feels otherworldly.

Often nicknamed the “Grand Canyon of Kazakhstan,” Charyn Canyon is located about 3 hours from Almaty and is known for its dramatic rock formations and the famous Valley of Castles.

📍 Planning a visit?
🚗 You can visit on a day trip from Almaty by car, private transfer, or organized tour.
🏜️ The Valley of Castles is the main area to explore, with towering formations shaped by millions of years of erosion.

🌿 I paired Charyn Canyon with Kolsai Lakes for a full day exploring Kazakhstan’s landscapes. If you want to add Kaindy Lake too, I’d recommend making it a 2-day trip so you have enough time to enjoy everything without rushing!

SAVE + SHARE Kolsai Lakes 🇰🇿

Kolsai is a series of three alpine lakes tucked into the mountains of southeastern Kazakhstan, surrounded by pine forests and some seriously beautiful scenery. And yes, the water really is this blue. 🩵

Planning a visit? Here’s what to know:
📍 Kolsai Lakes National Park
🚗 About 300 km from Almaty
🏡 Most people stay in or pass through Saty village, which is the main gateway to the area.

Kolsai-1, the Lower Lake, is the easiest to get to and probably the lake you’ll see most often in photos. From there, you can hike about 8 km to Kolsai-2, the Middle Lake. Kolsai-3 is farther out and requires a more challenging trek.

I visited Kolsai as part of a day trip from Almaty, and it was a LONG day, but absolutely worth it.

If you’re planning a Kazakhstan trip, I’d definitely put Kolsai on the list. 🇰🇿

A woman with a naturally intimidating aura is unsettling because she makes weak intentions feel exposed.

She carries herself like she has already chosen herself.

Access to her feels earned, never assumed.

A woman with a naturally intimidating aura is disruptive because she reminds people what self-possession looks like.

She has made peace with being misunderstood.

She has survived enough to stop entertaining anything shallow.

A woman with a naturally intimidating aura is ruthless because she remembers every version of herself she had to bury to become this precise.

She carries the kind of peace people only get after surviving chaos.

Venturing through the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu, surrounded by mountains, history, and a view that feels almost unreal. 🇵🇪⛰️✨ Some places you visit, and some places leave you speechless. This was definitely one of them.
