190 faces. One night.

Another year, another record with @msufashionboard One of my favorite shoots every year, and somehow they keep finding a way to top the year before.

190 headshots and one very busy evening behind the camera.

Always grateful to be invited back! by @blakemccollum

My grandad is 89 today.

I took these photos of him recently with our old green truck, as I’ve started trying to document more of the important things in life.

He woke up this morning and probably had his grass mowed before most of us ever got out of bed. He’s one of the kindest people I know, and if you know him, I’d like to think you’d agree. From fixing neighborhood kids’ bikes and flat tires to always lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it, that’s just who he’s been for as long as I can remember. I sorta think that’s where I got a little bit of that mentality from too.

If you know him, go find him and wish him a happy 89th birthday today. by @blakemccollum

Details from C&C’s amazing (and fully monogrammed!) wedding day in Taylor, Mississippi 🤍💍🍸🌸 by @blakemccollum

my fav little details 🤎 by @blakemccollum

One more reason July is a great month to get married at our venue: crepe myrtles in full bloom. 🌸 We've have more than 50 blooming right now along the levy and near the venue.

Fun fact: every single one was transplanted by co-owner Tom Green and his team from elsewhere on our 90-acre property during construction — proof that a little planning (and a lot of hard work) can pay off beautifully.

Mr and Mrs Hudson!! The classic southern backyard wedding reception of our dreams in Columbus, Ms 💍🩷🍸💒✨ by @blakemccollum

I recently went to photograph a former wedding couple's newborn in their home and upon walking in I immediately saw this largely printed image hanging on their wall.

Lacey reminded me of all the details...
The La Marca bottle was custom engraved with their wedding date.
The accent wall it lives on is painted La Marca blue.
The champagne glasses belonged to her late Nana, who had passed before the wedding, so they honored her by toasting with them.

Then she said,
"I didn't want to look at a giant photo of my face every day. I wanted something that reminded us how our wedding felt..."

As photographers, we spend a lot of time talking about first kisses, golden hour, epic exits, etc... But sometimes the photo that hangs on the wall for years isn't a portrait at all. It's a picture of Nana's glassware that makes them remember what that day felt like.

Congrats to Cole and Lacey on little Ace. by @blakemccollum

Bare feet in the grass, a picnic on family land, and about as Mississippi summer as it gets.

These two spent the evening slow dancing in the field, eating snacks, and letting me tag along with a camera.

One of those sessions that just feels easy from start to finish. Now it’s their wedding week, and I can’t wait to celebrate them this Saturday. by @blakemccollum
