Welcome to the final exhibition of the art residency ‘Untangling Patterns’! We are trapped by patterns. Yet, by rethinking the matrices of perception and response to the universe’s infinite diversity that are rooted in our cultures and identities, we can make patterns our allies. Transforming them from a means of simplification into a tool for a more enriching vision and interaction with the complexity of all. Into a lens that allows us to see reality not pixilated, not as a combination of zeros and ones, but as an unbroken continuum with no boundaries in its boundless multiplicity of dimensions, and with no clear boundaries between its (non)elements within. And along the way, finding beauty, both in diversity and in patterns — in these fascinating and mysterious combinations of the archetypal and the cultural. The exhibition concludes an artistic research project involving seven artists — a three-month residency of Mihkel Muskar Galerie at BAS CS Gallery within the framework of Kolonie Wedding. The artists of the project ‘Untangling Patterns’ — from different generations and cultural backgrounds — reflect on this theme in their own way. Their visual statements are attempts not only to recognise, but also to redraw the lines along which our thinking and perception move. Their artistic gestures are not only an aesthetic experience, but also an invitation to rethink how we live, feel and interact with the world. August 🕒 Donnerstag – Samstag, 15:00–19:00 Uhr und nach Vereinbarung Finissage: 17.August, ab 17.00 📍 Mihkel Muskar Galerie @mmgalerie in der Residenz bei der BAS CS Gallery @bascsgallery, im Rahmen von Kolonie Wedding @koloniewedding Soldinerstraße 103, 13359 Berlin ----- EN: We are happy to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Geometry of the Unconscious" by the artist duo @blaxx443! Abstract compositions made from adhesive tape unexpectedly reveal images reminiscent of architecture, urban landscapes, inner memory maps, or the impossibility of clearly ordering the complex multilayered nature of existence. With this exhibition, we launch the project “Untangling Patterns”, in which we explore how visible and invisible structures in art and everyday life shape our perception and behavior. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the vernissage on Thursday, August 7, from 6 PM! 📅 The exhibition is open until August 17 🕒 Thursday – Saturday, 3–7 PM and by appointment Closing evening: August 17, from 17:00 📍 Mihkel Muskar Galerie @mmgalerie in residence at BAS CS Gallery @bascsgallery, as part of Kolonie Wedding @koloniewedding.
