1 in 3 women leak when running.
We deserve better. ↓

POSTS STORIES REELS

Kilometer 6 of an interval session. I lost urine, mid-run, in front of everyone. I stopped, went home, and felt embarrassed in a way I hadn’t expected, not because something was wrong with me, but because I was just running, hard, like I always did before kids.

And there was nothing to wear that actually helped.
So I decided to build it myself. Zero experience in fashion, manufacturing, or Kickstarter. What I had: a technical background, ten years in product, and a problem I refused to stay quiet about. Evenings only, kids asleep, no investors, no shortcuts.

Today @bldhrt.run is live on Kickstarter.
A running hipster with a fully bonded, seamless gusset, built for the impact of running instead of adapted from a pad. 600 units, made in Portugal.

Roughly 1 in 3 women who run deal with leaking. Almost nothing on the market is actually built for it, because most of us never talk about it out loud.

What gets called a niche is usually just a problem nobody’s said out loud yet.

If you run, or love someone who does, link in bio.
Move with courage. 🖤

Share, care and let’s make it happen together 🫶

Hi, I’m Elisa 👋

Marathon runner. Mum of two. Full-time product lead. And the woman who peed herself at km 6 during intervals and thought — okay, someone needs to fix this.

That someone is apparently me.
I’m building bldhrt in the evenings, after the kids are asleep, with a laptop and way too much ambition.

Woking on a prototype. No team. Just me figuring it out one step at a time — and sharing all of it here.

If you leak when you run, this is for you. 🖤

Full time employed, mum, expat family, runner and started founding my own company.

Oh and just decided I would like to try to run my second marathon, 10 years and 2 kids after my last one.

Do you like to follow my ride and enjoy a decent amount of chaos? Follow along!

Family holiday mode: very happy, very well fed, occasionally running. ☀️🏃🏼‍♀️

I’m loving these days together and squeezing in a little Tokyo Marathon training whenever it fits. Bonus points if there’s a treadmill nearby, because running alone after dark requires a level of bravery I don’t possess. 😂

My love for Sebastian Fitzek’s books isn’t helping. One rustling bush and suddenly I’m the main character in a thriller I absolutely did not audition for. 📚👀

Anyone else love a thriller but need company to take the bins out? 😂

We’ve tried activities for us. Activities for them. An entire day planned around their happiness.

The feedback remains consistent. 😂

Honestly, there are lovely moments. They’re just sandwiched between someone wanting a snack and someone being devastated that the day has an ending.

Apparently, I prefer a little chaos in my running shoes. 😂

After wondering whether I’m too slow for my carbon-plated Saucony Endorphin Elite, I bought the nylon-plated Endorphin Speed 5 to compare.

First impressions?

They’re more stable, less cushioned and definitely less wobbly.

Which sounds great, right?

Except I kind of miss the wobble. And the soft, bouncy feeling.

The Speed 5 isn’t a bad shoe at all. It’s just a little… boring compared to the Elite.

Maybe I don’t want sensible running shoes. Maybe I want running shoes with a personality. 😂

Anyone else prefer that slightly unstable, super-bouncy feeling?

Apparently, my biggest marathon training challenge is... slowing down.

After three weeks of flu, my body made it very clear that I couldn’t just pick up where I left off. My heart rate was soaring, recovery was terrible, and my Tokyo Marathon 2027 training plan basically told me to WALK.

Me? Walk during a running workout? Absolutely ridiculous.

So I tried something different: following the plan, working on my running technique, and resisting the urge to push harder. Okay, I did increase the incline in the last two minutes. Progress, not pertection.

And here’s the interesting part: zero leakage.

I usually experience leakage when I push towards my limits. Today, I didn’t.

I’m building bldhrt for women who experience urine loss while running, so these little real-life experiments matter to me. Not because we should stop challenging ourselves, but because understanding our bodies might help us keep doing what we love.

Maybe getting faster sometimes starts with learning to slow down.

Even if I hate every minute of it.

Rain, wind and interval training… 🌧️🏃‍♀️

I had speed work on my running schedule, but the Dutch autumn weather had other plans. 😂

So I took my interval run inside and jumped on the treadmill instead. A little spoiled? Maybe. But I did set the incline to 2, so let’s call it a compromise. 😉

Training for the Tokyo Marathon means getting the miles in, even when the weather is doing its absolute worst. Not every run has to be an adventure. Sometimes, showing up means choosing the treadmill over getting soaked.

Because consistency beats perfect conditions. Every single time. 🏃‍♀️

Are you team treadmill or team running in the rain and wind?👇

easy run turned into a pumpkin workout 🎃😂

30 minutes of easy running, collecting chestnuts, and CARRYING A WHOLE PUMPKIN HOME. 🏃🏼‍♀️🎃

My toddler got his Halloween pumpkin. My Garmin thinks I’ve lost all my stamina.

apparently, pumpkin carries aren’t part of the training plan. 😂

Tokyo Marathon training has officially entered its survival era. 🫡

Trying to build mileage, recover from being sick and avoid every virus known to mankind.
Mums who run, you know the struggle. 😂
