Since we’ve had a lot of new faces around here lately, I thought it was fitting to introduce myself!

Hi & welcome! I’m Sam, and I’m so glad you’re here☺️

Here’s my story… I live and work on my family’s dairy farm where I’ve learned the value of hard work, early mornings, and pouring everything you’ve got into your big dreams.

In 2024, a very sweet friend and an inspiration @loveandgrowflowers gifted me some dahlia tubers, and without realizing it, she planted the seed for something much bigger. That gift turned into a deep love for flowers, and it’s now a very meaningful part of my life. 🌸

That same year, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a moment that changed everything. I’ve always been someone who’s goal-driven, hard-working, and constantly on the move. MS forced me to re-center, and change my perspective. While flower farming isn’t as fairy-tale like as it seems and still require a lot of effort and time, this became my therapy, my creative outlet, and my reminder that growth still happens, even when life looks different than you planned.

Now I spend my days balancing cows and cut flowers, busy days and a few quiet moments in between. And honestly… I’m incredibly grateful for all of it, I love this way of life.

Some more things that make me, me:
🌸Dahlias are my favourite flower (obviously)
🐮 I LOVE cows and my dog, sometimes more than people
🇨🇭My family is originally from Switzerland, you can speak to me in Swiss German
💐I have flowers in my car 90% of the time
🥗 Health and clean eating are huge priorities
📊 Numbers, accounting, and goal-setting light me up
🌱 Working outside clears my head
🎯 I’m always trying to find a way towards a better, stronger version of myself

Whether you’re here for the flowers, the farm, or the journey… thank you for following along. I hope this space brings you a little beauty, calm, and connection 🌼

10 large-bloom dahlias earning their spot on my 2027 must-grow list 🌸

Every single one makes blooms over 4 inches, and they’re seriously standing out in the field this season!

With 110+ varieties growing, narrowing down the must-grows is getting HARD. 😂

Which one would you grow? 👇

I have a feeling this comment section is going to be VERY relatable for some of us. 😂

There are things about growing dahlias that just sound completely ridiculous to anyone who doesn’t grow them.

Let’s hear your best ones! 👇🌸

And just like that the big dig is FINALLY done💪🏼

After two weeks of constant digging, back/hip pain and regretting why I decided to grow this many dahlias, all tuber clumps are out and tucked into storage!

Grateful for the help from @alex_matta29 , my sister and Mother Nature🌞

Now time to finish packing clump orders, dividing and organizing Christmas Wreath Workshops🎄

Don’t forget that if you ordered dahlia clumps for on-farm pickup, we will see you this Saturday between 10-3pm!

Please don’t let the dahlia police see this🚔

Bride to Be is one tough girl! She’s big, sturdy and packed with tubers. Honestly, this is the only way to get all that stubborn dirt out of her🤣

On the last stretch of dahlia digging💪

My goal is to finish by tomorrow (Monday) night!

How far is everyone with their digging? Are you still digging or have everything tucked away??

#dahliagrower #cutflowerfarm #dahliaseason by @blis.sfulblooms

I know, I know. She’s the queen of dahlias, but she blooms too late, isn’t productive enough, AND gives me some wonky blooms!

Are you team Café au Lait forever, or are you also in a love-hate relationship with her?

On the plus side, there might be LOTS of Café au Lait tubers for tuber sale… 👀😂

My top 10 dahlia tuber producers of 2026, in no particular order! 🌸

We’re not done digging yet, but these varieties have already given me an overload of tubers!

Which varieties have been your best tuber producers this year?

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we’re already planning for Christmas! 🎄

Our Christmas wreath workshops are BACK! ❤️

Last year was such a hit, and tickets are officially live with 4 dates to choose from!

Come make your own fresh Christmas wreath, enjoy some festive treats, and spend a fun morning or afternoon with friends. All materials provided, and no experience needed!

📍 Blissful Blooms Flower Farm, St-Albert

🎟️ Early-bird tickets end on Nov. 3rd!

I’m sorry to everyone I threw off with the Christmas post but this is your warning that it’s coming😉

🌸 Dahlia cleaning hack!

That sticky soil is SO hard to get off! I’m using compressed air to clean up my clumps before shipping, but this works great for cleaning tubers before winter storage, too.

Just keep the pressure reasonable (not too high) and you’re good to go! 🙌

Already making my 2027 dahlia wish list 👀🌸 And I need your help!

What are your MOST and LEAST favourite dahlias? Tell me in the comments! I want to hear the good, the bad, and the ones you’d never ever grow again!!
