Dozens of micro-adjustments later, the hat takes its shape. When a hat is built by hand, with you in mind the whole time, it sits a little different. At least, that's how we see it.

No big factories. No one size fits all. Color, style, shape, and brim coverage, all made to your specifications. Blocker's Bench hats aim to be an extension of you: your expression and your style.

We're happy to talk about what that means to you. We'd love to make your hat.

Wear the hat.

126 years ago, Sears, Roebuck & Co. sold nutria fur cowboy hats like "The Montana" for $3.00 plus 38 cents postage, calling them "a top-notcher for appearance, durability and quality."

This is a page straight out of their Fall 1900 catalog, complete with sombreros, the Pine Ridge Scout, and the J.B. Stetson Boss of the Plains. Every hat on that page was built to be worn hard, weathered by years, and handed down.

That's the tradition Blocker's Bench keeps alive today, one new build or restoration at a time.

Good products endure, quality craftsmanship and good materials make that possible, and that's exactly the point.

The porkpie took its name from the English pork pie, a flat-topped crust with a pinched rim, and the hat has worn that shape since the 1800s.

This one keeps the line going: black felt, flat porkpie crown, short brim, and a 1960s vintage bayadere ribbon.

Another look at this one.

The request came in for a fedora with soft curves and a subtle shape. We hand-blocked it in 100% rabbit fur felt, kept the pinch gentle, and let the brim sit a little flatter and more relaxed.

This image is darkened for effect but the green felt is complemented by the gold paisley silk, gathered on the side and finished with an emerald green pin that picks up the color of the felt. Small detail, but it's the part everyone asks about.

Fitted to her head and made to be worn every day.

If you've been thinking about a handmade fedora, send us a DM with BUILD and we'll talk through shape, color, crown, brim, and fit.

Made in Upland for the Inland Empire and beyond.

Wear the hat.

This vintage felt hat used to be a western cowboy hat. An old school Shepler's Dynafelt that we restored and reshaped into a fedora style, then finished with a vintage French ribbon hatband. #Handmade hat restoration, one piece at a time. Same felt, new story.

Wear the hat.

Black felt porkpie hat with a 1960s vintage bayadere hatband.

The porkpie, or pork pie hat, has always had a seat in the music scene. It's been worn in smoky jazz clubs, on ska stages, and it still shows up on stage today. Some hats go out of style. This one just changes bands. And you don't have to be a musician to rock one.

Handmade in black felt with a flat porkpie crown, short brim, and a vintage striped grosgrain ribbon from the 1960s.

Custom hats made to size in the Inland Empire. Want your own? DM to book a consult: BUILD or RESTORE.
