Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Maria Jackson @mariawiththevoice is an alternative R&B and soul singer based in Bend, Oregon. Her first public performance came after a friend signed her up for karaoke without telling her. She was so nervous, she sang TLC’s “No Scrubs” from underneath the table. Today, she performs with musicians across Bend at wine bars, breweries, and events. She also sings at local benefits, giving back to the community that encouraged her to keep performing. For bookings, please contact Maria at mariatheeband@gmail.com Thank you to @belladonna_photographer for the great video of Maria singing Alicia Keys! by @bloomlinecollective
Nash Ranch has been a gathering place for generations of Redding families. Louis D. Nash began buying the land in 1953, and in the early ’90s, his son Bob planted a small plot of pumpkins and set a new family tradition in motion. Today, his grandson, also Louis D. Nash, helps carry that tradition forward. For visitors, the ranch is a place to pick pumpkins, explore the corn maze, and make memories with their families. For Louis, it’s also a way to bring people together and give back to the community that has supported his family’s farm for decades. “Community built this place,” he says. “All I do is drive a tractor.” Read the full story at the link in our bio. 🎃 Follow @_nashranch_ by @bloomlinecollective

Zachary Darden‘s childhood love of adventure led him into conservation, where he built trails, guided wilderness trips, and worked as a park ranger. He shares how his cowboy hat helped him find confidence, his experiences as a black man in the outdoors, and what it meant to become someone children looked up to. @zachary_c_darden Photography by: @tomcopho Follow us for more features like this. by @bloomlinecollective
We are heartbroken, angry and tired of seeing communities endure this kind of tragedy. Our hearts are with Bend and everyone at Silver Rail Elementary. Children deserve better. 💔 by @bloomlinecollective
“‘Love at first sight’ is one of the most persistent clichés surrounding new parenthood. It’s depicted repeatedly in popular culture, and alternatives are rarely explored. I presumed this instant love was what I would experience, but my reality was quite different.” In our first community submission, Sarah Karner writes honestly about postpartum depression, the pressure to feel grateful, and struggling privately while appearing to have everything together. With The Collective, we’re opening Bloomline to stories told by you, in your own words. Because sharing what we’ve lived through can help someone else feel less alone. Thank you, Sarah, for sharing yours. Read Sarah’s full story or submit your own through the link in our bio. @sarkar516 by @bloomlinecollective

When I first shared this video, it was to capture the reactions of my parents seeing I had dedicated my first published book to my sister, Tara. She was their first child and died of SIDS at five months old. My dad died a little over a month ago, and now that he’s gone, I find myself watching it just to see him again. I don’t know where we go when we die, but I hope he is with my sister again. 🥹 PS. Don’t mind the South Park shirt. by @bloomlinecollective
It took Tom Kelly two years to turn 200 field recordings from his 2023 Pacific Crest Trail hike into a sound map of the entire trail. What began as a way of capturing moments he experienced alone became something he could share with others, allowing everyone to click into the map and listen to what he heard along the way. ”Unlike a photograph, sound is more open to interpretation. It allows people to revisit a moment.” For Kelly, that means a recent thru-hiker finding their way back to the trail, someone who hiked it decades ago returning to a familiar place, or anyone with a curiosity to listen more closely to the world around them.
