Happy Easter and happy seven months! #heisrisen by @blujakmusic

As Easter approaches, I felt impressed to share this after watching Project Hail Mary. The cinematography and art direction were fantastic, but after watching, I realized that many space themed movies (i.e., Project Hail Mary, Interstellar, The Martian, etc.) deal with a similar central theme: due to diminishing resources, the fate of the Earth rests in the hands of a few brave astronauts. If they don’t step in and journey to some remote planet to find an alternative solution, the Earth / mankind won’t be able to survive.

While I think this makes for a compelling and entertaining story, it reflects mankind’s hubris to think the world can be saved by any one person on Earth. The world has a Savior, and not just in the figurative sense. On this Good Friday, He was betrayed by His own and crucified for our sins, but on Sunday He conquered death and paid for our salvation; the salvation of all of God’s children and of this world in which we live. The world doesn’t need to be saved by any of us. We are redeemed by a Savior who has always loved us.

This Easter, instead of relying on the world’s consolations when you are experiencing your own “Dark Fridays,” seek the Lord, strengthen your relationship with God, and search the scriptures to find peace. Friday may be dark, but Sunday will come.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” #easter #heisrisen by @blujakmusic
