Happy National Encouragement Day, Baltimore! You persevered, you never gave up, and you have shown that this is still not our best. On behalf of the Mayor’s Office of Children & Family Success and the Baltimore City Youth Commission, we want to say: We see you, and we want you to know… We Believe in You! by @bmore4thefuture
Sometimes, safety starts with getting to know the people who are there to help.   Throughout the summer, Baltimore City Recreation & Parks (Rec & Parks), in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Children and Family Success (MOCFS), the Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD), the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) and the Baltimore City Youth Commission, brought Safety Story Time to our summer camps.   Through story time, Q&As, and hands-on activities, campers learned about the important work police officers and firefighters do in our communities, how to get help in an emergency, and important phone numbers, like 911.   They also had the chance to ask questions, share their thoughts, and get to know the people behind the badge and uniform.   Because when kids have the opportunity to connect with the people who are there to help them, those uniforms can feel a little less scary and a lot more familiar.   Safety Story Time is about building trust, teaching important safety skills, and helping our young people feel safe, heard, and supported. #bmore4thefuture #bmorechildren #baltimorepolicedepartment #baltimorebcfd by @bmore4thefuture
