Why I do not replace zips.

Sourcing:
I do not keep zips in stock. Each zip would need to be purchased individually, either online or from a haberdashery store — and there are none locally. This makes sourcing time-consuming and impractical.

Cost:
Zip prices vary depending on the style, length and whether they are metal or plastic. In addition to the cost of purchasing the zip, there would also be my charge for fitting it. In many cases, it is actually more economical to purchase a new item of clothing than to replace a zip.

Sewing Requirements:
Most zip replacements require a specialist sewing foot. My machine is designed for light domestic work.
