I was honoured to be invested with an OBE from His Majesty King Charles III on 14 Feb 2023 at Windsor Castle for services to social care following me being made an OBE in Our Late Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Birthday Honours List in June 2022. by @bobpadron

This original oil painting of the street bearing my grandmother’s family’s name - Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, PH - had quite a journey from the Philippines to finally being framed in Carmel by the Sea by Ed, the best portrait framer in America (Ed is pictured with the pigs in the painting behind me)! I bought this on March 30, 2026 from Filipino Art in Pasig City, PH. Then the artist Rommel Manto, who painted the artwork in 2021, had to get approval from the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts Cultural Properties Regulation Division Permits and Licensing Section to export the painting which was obtained on June 24, 2026 and then it arrived in California on July 17, 2026. As it is so special though I had to take it to Ed in Carmel. He is always backed up so it only finally got framed today: October 23, 2026 and Ed did a fantastic job.

Derivatives of the Crisologo family have been part and parcel of Ilocos Sur at least since the 1800s and have run the province since 1901. Marcelino “Mena” Crisólogo, who the street is named after, became the first Governor of Ilocos Sur in 1901 and the current Governor is Jeremias “Jerry” Crisologo Singson. The Singson’s are the same family despite the history of acrimony. There is a baptismal certificate from 1906 showing my great great grandfather Antonio Crisologo acting as a co-godparent to someone alongside Jose Encarnacion Singson (the grandfather of Jerry Crisologo Singson).

“To us Christ is all! If you have a wound to heal, he is the doctor; if you are parched by fever, he is the spring; if you are oppressed by injustice, he is justice; if you are in need of help, he is strength...” - Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan AD 374-397 by @bobpadron

Filipino Forces IV was a blast! 🇵🇭

At the dinner before hand, speaking to some of the most successful members of our (Filipino) Diaspora, I reminded them not to forget about giving back to the Motherland and to be a good example to our oligarchs, many of whom have grown unduly selfish and inward looking. I used the example of the many times I’ve picked up litter in Intramuros or fed cats in BGC - never have I once seen an oligarch out doing the same and this is abhorrently disgusting. We must remind our most powerful that when it comes to Bayanihan, they must also be on the boat with all of us. by @bobpadron
