my favorite dowel moves!! 🪄🪄 by @bodybygiuls

not every week is the same but this one was a good one!!🤸🏻‍♀️ by @bodybygiuls

today’s sideovers series😮‍💨😮‍💨

start with presses
goal — get body aligned & used to additional weight on 1 side

alt. press with sideover
goal — not using momentum to lift, focus on oblique control
**warm up not pictured — isometric hold of press & diagonal spine, hand taps behind head & back to headrest

isometric hold with rotation
goal — keep top hip hip stable & stacked!

topped with pulses 🤌🏼

got to class early & want something to do??
here’s my favorite stretches to do to warm up before class starts!

1. hip flexor w/ side bend (1R, can be done with opposite arm too)
2. hamstring (1R)
3. monkey stretch w/ alt. calf pedals (1R)
4. seated cat/cows w/ thread needle variation (1Y/1B, both directions)
5. assisted mermaid (1Y/1B depending on shoulder comfort)
6. adductor & IT band (1R1B, opposite loop to opposite foot)

lmk if you have any other favorites, try one and like it, or need cues, happy stretching 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️

chair. the most humbling apparatus.
but like consider it added to my @balanced_body body shopping cart!

smaller surface = less support = body works harder

one of my favorite things special to the chair is when a client is not feeling the connection on reformer, being able to use the chair to get that “AHA” and then go back and apply it to other apparatuses and have the muscle memory for future classes. like that’s so cool.
truly goes back to the uniqueness of pilates is for everyone. there is a way for every type of body to feel the same connection, just different ways of getting there. but once you got it, you got it.

also, peep at the end to see my friends do cool sh*t on the ladder barrel!!

taking our chair exam today & doing our barrel/spine corrector workshop yesterday made it feel so real that next wednesday is our last day after 6 MONTHS 😭

@clubrem can we still hang out wednesdays 3-9 please?? by @bodybygiuls

one of my 2025 resolutions is complete!

cadillac + tower might just be my favorite apparatus
(shh don’t tell reformer 🤫)

caddy was created as a rehabilitation option for injured/bed ridden soldiers in WWI
it’s incredibly focused on misalignment due to the individuality of the springs vs pulley system in a reformer
that alone scratches an itch in my brain and i just love it
you can’t get more personal in a workout!

if you’ve been just dying to try caddy/tower, hmu i’ll have you HOOKED
coming onto the last few weeks of training: only chair + barrel left! 🥲 by @bodybygiuls
