“We can’t do everything, and we certainly can’t do everything at once. We must go gently.” The Book Fairies were seeking green locations at which to leave the beautiful Go Gently, by Bonnie Wright! We hope the lucky finders enjoy discovering Bonnie’s tips and tricks about how to live a greener lifestyle ♻️ About the book: An inspiring and approachable tip-filled guide to changing your habits, living more sustainably, and taking action, by Greenpeace ambassador Bonnie Wright. In Go Gently, Bonnie won’t tell you to overhaul your life. Instead, she’ll meet you where you are, offering a crash course in climate-related issues along with practical tips, skills, and recipes that can start you on your own best path. She’ll show you that small things like educating yourself on which materials can be recycled, and how learning to mend your clothes instead of throwing them away, or turning your coffee grounds into an incredible exfoliating scrub, will naturally lead to big-picture thinking and living. Go Gently is a guide to positive change that we can all use to treat our home and ourselves gently, and do our part to help protect this beautiful planet. #ibelieveinbookfairies #BonnieBookFairies #gogently #GreenBookFairies #BonnieWright #newbook #gogreen #greenlifestyle #ecoinstagram #instaeco #instaenvironment #redusewaste #savetheplanet @thisisbwright @gogently.earth @greenfinch_books @quercusbooks by @bookfairies_york
“It seems that stories don't always do what we want them to." This book fairy is sharing a copy of Now She Is Witch by Kirsty Logan... hope the lucky finder enjoys it! About the book: She dug her mother's grave in the poison garden so it would stay hidden... From the snowy winter woods to the bright midnight sun; from lost and powerless to finding your path, Now She is Witch conjures a world of violence and beauty - a world where women grasp at power through witchcraft, sexuality and performance, and most of all through throwing each other to the wolves. Lux has lost everything when Else finds her, alone in the woods. Her family, her lover, her home - all burned. The world is suspicious of women like her. But Lux is cunning; she knows how to exploit people's expectations, how to blend into the background. And she knows a lot about poisons. Else has not found Lux by accident. She needs her help to seek revenge against the man who wronged her, and together they pursue him north. But on their hunt they will uncover dark secrets that entangle them with dangerous adversaries. This is a witch story unlike any other. ibelieveinbookfairies #VintageBookFairies #BookFairyProofs #nowsheiswitch #kirstylogan #TVFNowSheIsWitch #ibelieveinbookfairies #witchlit by @bookfairies_york
“I turned and looked around the room one last time. Small, and damp in winter, it had been home for a long time.” Hiding in York city centre! The Book Fairies are sharing copies of The Hexton Chronicles: Trouble with Magic by Amy Wilson across the UK today! “‘What can ghosts possibly do to me?’” … or what can creepy dolls do? (Did you spot her??) The Book Fairies have been busy sharing copies of House of Splinters by Laura Purcell across the UK today! York was the big destination and what a great way to celebrate Ghost Week, giving ghost hunters something else to spot 👻 The footage from the Minster at the end as darkness descended shows you how keen people were to find this book… 👀 Thank you to @yorkghostmerchants for helping! Who will be lucky enough to spot one this spooky season? About the book: The author of chilling modern classic The Silent Companions revisits the haunted Bridge estate in this delightfully disturbing gothic treat, as Belinda Bainbridge and her family discover that their new home is anything but inviting. Not every house is a home ... Belinda Bainbridge has spent her life in the shadow of her anxious mother, so when her father-in-law dies at The Bridge, his remote ancestral seat, she is secretly thrilled. His death means she, her husband, Wilfred, and their children can relocate and finally begin to create their own happy home together: born a merchant’s daughter, she will now be lady of the manor. But their new home quickly proves far from ideal. The garden is a wilderness, the estate is struggling financially, there are whispers about the mysterious death of a servant many years before, while their young son, Freddie, seems unusually fixated on the strange wooden figures-so-called “silent companions”-that were once owned by his ancestors. When Wilfred’s charismatic brother, Nathan, arrives unexpectedly from abroad, bringing a very different account of the family’s past, Belinda begins to question what her husband has told her. What really lies behind the sad history of the house? And are Belinda’s children truly safe here? #iBelieveinBookFairies #HouseofSplinters #TBFHouseofSplinters #LauraPurcell #TBFBloomsbury #GhostWeek #york #yorkminster #ghosts #ghosthunt by @bookfairies_york
