Sharing another commission I made last year! 🎉 Alongside the Atlas cosplay I made, I also made a Shaka cosplay from the One Piece Vegapunk arc for @borkonog ! It included: A custom-made helmet: I got Daft Punk helmet pattern from Chilli cospaly on Etsy and altered the pattern pieces to make Shaka’s helmet out of EVA foam. Helmet visor: I carved a master out of foam that fit the helmet base, then vaccum formed plastic over it to get that shape. Once the shape was cut out, I dyed it so it would be more opaque from the outside (You can still see out of it when wearing it!), then added HTV appliques. Also, I lost my original vacuum form box when I moved so I built a second bigger one for this visor out of scrap wood! I do have video of me making it. It’s not a detailed tutorial, but if anyone is interested then I could post that too 😄 Coat: The coat is fully lined and made from twill. The appliques were all carefully mapped out and hand cut to match the reference photo, then satin stitched down. The letter appliques were made with my embroidery machine. I also added welt pockets on the side! Boots: These pics are technically for both Atlas and Shaka’s boots since they’re made the same way (See the Atlas cosplay a few posts back lol). I made them by first modeling a 3D Vegapunk boot model on Fusion. I then scaled the 3D model to my client’s shoe sizes and then transferred the models to be paper patterns. I then used the paper patterns to cut the foam pieces which were primed, painted, and finished with sealer. They’re quite funky to make and I really liked translating the 2D design to 3D. Again, making these cosplays let me exercise a lot of skills that I have the knowledge of, but don’t normally get to do on my own cosplays, and I’m really glad that Borkonog and Katcos trusted me to make their cosplays for them! ~ Want a custom-made cosplay, accessory, wig, prop, 3D print, or 3D print file? Our commissions are open at the moment, just send an email or DM! ~ Fabrics: @fabricwholesaledirect Foam: @thefoamory @cosplayfabrics Patterns: @moodfabrics , @chilli.cosplay by @borkonog
