Two reasons to celebrate today!🍾

Today we’re wishing a BIG Happy Birthday to our very own winemaker Fabian Bravo, who also happens to be celebrating 19 YEARS at Brander this November!

19 years of making some pretty incredible wines, countless harvests, & always being up to grab a cold beer after a long day of winemaking. Cheers Fabian! by @brandervineyard

Our 50th harvest:

Sauvignon Blanc is coming in just about every day at this point, and as you’ve probably heard, harvest is moving early across the valley this year. We’ve certainly seen earlier starts before here at Brander, but there’s no question things are moving quickly, and leaning towards a shorter condensed harvest.

A huge shoutout to our production crew, putting in long days and keeping everything moving through this intense stretch of September heat. by @brandervineyard

Last week we wrapped up our final Shuck & Sip event of the season! 🦪🥂

A big thank you to everyone who came out and made these afternoons so much fun this year. Fresh oysters from Morro Bay, live music, Sauvignon Blanc in the glass, and plenty of good company.

We loved having you all out here for each one and already can’t wait to bring Shuck & Sip back next spring. ☀️ by @brandervineyard

2026 marks our 50th harvest at Brander, and this one feels especially meaningful.

Seeing the vineyard getting close brings back a lot of memories , earlier vintages, long days, full bins, familiar faces, and all the seasons that brought us here.

As of today, we still haven’t made our first pick here on the estate. We’re watching, tasting, checking, waiting… and it feels like it could be any day now.

To all of our friends and fellow wineries who are already underway, cheers to the start of another vintage. by @brandervineyard

Yesterday we bottled some of our favorite small-lot whites, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing bottling crew. Thank you for another great day!

One bottle we’re especially counting down the days for is our 2025 Cuvée Natalie. A bright blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Gris that’s become a true Brander favorite. Staff love it. Guests love it. We always wish we had made more.

Good news… a mailing list pre-release is coming very soon. Stay tuned! 👀🍷 by @brandervineyard

Oysters + Sauvignon Blanc
Last Saturday we hosted our first Shuck & Sip of the year with our friends from @grassybaroyster

We paired an all white wine lineup with freshly shucked oysters, live music, & beautiful weather in the courtyard!

Join us at the next one, of course on National Sauvignon Blanc Day- May 2nd!

Earlier this year we kicked off our 20 acre replanting project. After months of pulling out vines, today we turned the page and started the next phase.

Huge thank you to our vineyard crew for their hard work, as always. This doesn’t happen without them. by @brandervineyard

End of an era! 📦 Meet AL Chavez, our main UPS driver & Santa Ynez legend. Today marks his official retirement after 40 YEARS of delivering the goods!

If a bottle of our wine has ever landed on your porch, AL was the man who started its journey.

Rain or shine, harvest chaos or holiday rush, he has been a constant for us & so many across Los Olivos & Santa Ynez.

We are so incredibly happy for him as he clocks out for the last time to go be a full time grandpa. Wishing you the best retirement ever AL🥂 by @brandervineyard

Not the prettiest vineyard post we have ever shared, but it might be one of the most important.

If you have visited Brander this winter, you may have noticed parts of the vineyard look a little different. We are deep into a major replanting project, one of the biggest we have taken on in our history; focused mainly on our red wine blocks from some of our older plantings.

Photo 1 is a full circle moment. Fred Brander planting Cabernet Sauvignon back in the early 1980s. Now, decades later, we are doing the hard part of farming too: saying goodbye to certain vines so the next chapter can thrive.

This is not change for the sake of change. Some vines have simply reached the end of their healthy lifespan, & replanting is how we protect quality for the long run. This phase is especially red focused, while thankfully most of our Sauvignon Blanc remains in place.

Replanting is meticulous work, especially when you are keeping parts of the existing trellis system. Huge thanks to our vineyard crew led by @maverickfarming for the patience, precision, grit, & long days out there making it happen.

We just celebrated 50 years. Now we are planting for the next 50!

“It is difficult to see the vines being ripped out. Some of them were the original ungrafted vines planted as early as 1975. The changes will bring some challenges but we are excited about the replant. It is relatable to our human experience with life. We are saddened when our elders pass and cherish their memories. Yet we are beyond excited when a child is born and we fantasize about their future!” - Winemaker Fabian Bravo by @brandervineyard

18 harvests. Countless early mornings, late nights, and everything in between.

Today we celebrate Fabian Bravo, the heart of everything we do here at Brander.

For 18 years, Fabian has poured his talent and his heart into Brander. From learning side-by-side with Fred Brander to becoming the winemaker who now guides every vintage, his impact runs deep in every bottle we share.

Join us in congratulating Fabian on his anniversary, and in thanking him for everything he brings to Brander. We wouldn’t be who we are without him! by @brandervineyard
