slime time by @brian_r_phillips

I’ve been wrestling with this painting for a long time. It’s based on Thomas Ligotti’s THE RED TOWER. More of a representation of the titular subject and its activities than a faithful rendering of the description in the story. It’s one of those pieces that seems to get further from the image in my mind every time I touch it. It may get there eventually or I may have to start over. “Clearly the Red Tower had committed some violation or offense, its clamoring activities and unorthodox products — perhaps its very existence — constituting an affront to the changeless quietude of the world around it.”

I know I’ve posted this painting (“Selva Oscura”) like 3 times, but I’m really happy with it. Despite that, the paper became warped after working it so much, so it wouldn’t fit flush in a frame. I found this super old, weathered frame at an antique store and I kind of love how it floats in it. It reminds me of the way old documents are displayed in museums.

Glass Hive - Glass Hive EP

______________________________________________________

Brian Phillips aka Anatolya hailing from Florida returns to Unknown Tone with his Glass Hive EP side project previously self released. A slight departure from the brooding moods of the Anatolya moniker, GLASS HIVE was constructed to elicit feelings of calm, to unearth hazy memories of early innocence, and to lure the chaotic mind into the woods of sleep.
