We saw newly hatched ducklings on April 8 and now we saw new ones on May 27th. ☺️ They were soooo cute and fuzzy.

The babies did great, they all took a long nap before getting the courage to take that leap of faith out of their safe nest as mama called reassuringly to them. 🥹

We followed to make sure they crossed the street safely get to the water. One had trouble walking and was falling behind so they got taken to a rescue who will raise them with other ducklings.

Yesterday (4/8/26) we saw that our mama duck’s ducklings hatched (all but one). They were so tiny, fluffy, and adorable. 🥹 Mama finally came out of her nest and called up to her ducklings to join her. The first brave one did a flip as it hopped out. Little by little they all joined except for one that was too nervous (I quickly picked it up as mama was running off to the pond).

All 8 babies followed mama who wanted to cross a busy street to one of our local ponds. Three of us took turns making sure that mama and her babies all made it safely.

Good luck little duck family! Stay safe. ✨🌲🦆🐥
