Hi, I’m Bridget. 🎨 I’ve been a digital illustrator for a decade. Drawing for 3 decades to improve my craft which led to my work being featured in various exhibits.

I specialize in creating queer witchy illustrations to empower self-discovery through art. I strive to draw illustrations that makes people feel seen and heard by representing BIPOC, queer, body positivity and witchcraft themes through accurate representation.

I create a safe space for artists to reclaim their identity and foster creativity. 🌈🌙 I currently teach art classes as a Digital Arts Instructor. For me, self-discovery through art can feel freeing and empowering, I strive to give others that space to grow and create!

Does this resonate with you? Welcome to our community! 💪🏻💛 by @bridgetpavalow

🎨 After 3 decades of working on my craft, this is my current process. Each stroke and decision is met with care and consideration during my creative process.

We can get lost in the act of perfectionism which I try to fight since we can’t finish anything if we stay on that path. However, throughout my artistic journey, I’ve embraced learning and growing my art skills. 🌱 We’re always students if we open ourselves up to it.

I've always had this design of my character, Kari. Her story was always changing but her design stayed the same. I'm now working backwards and seeing what fits best for her. Her wants, needs and the challenges she needs to face. It's fun to start over and really get to know your original characters! 💛 It also helps to do a silly one page comic like this. by @bridgetpavalow

✏️ 3 years of experience teaching students @photoshop and @procreate.

🖼️ I’ve noticed common phrases such as, “I’m not an artist but…” and “I can’t do this, it’s too much.”

🎨 I remind them, especially beginner artists, that it’s a high expectation to get a new skill right on the first try. Portraits, color theory, composition and graphic design is a lot to take in for any artist. Everyone is different and has different ways of learning. I take the time with each student and find different ways to teach each of them until they feel comfortable understanding these wonderful art programs.

☀️ By the end of my weekly course, students feel more confident not only using these programs but with their new artistic skills. I encourage them to create and develop their own stories with their own creativity after they have become confident in learning the basics.

🌙 After a number of years later, I'm excited to reopen commissions! Focusing on shifting back into freelance work to support my art.

I'm a professional illustrator for 10 years while focusing on teaching art for the past 3+ years. I held a storyboard and storytelling presentation, graphic design classes, Procreate & Photoshop lessons and composition and color theory workshops to uplift and encourage students' creativity.

I'm excited to bring your characters to life and work with you via @vgen.co. 💛

Feel free to share so others can find this 🥰 by @bridgetpavalow

Aiden's sister, Ever La Cruz (she/her)!

Not her official outfit, I'm still working on that for her but I think this would be more of a casual outfit when she's not protecting the school from unwanted supernatural creatures. by @bridgetpavalow

My OC, Aiden La Cruz (they/them), for an old story I'm reviving and actually wrote the first five pages of it! 🎉 by @bridgetpavalow

I never use bases but was at a loss of what to draw. I knew I wanted to draw my OCs, Aiden and Klaus though. I came across this base on @pinterest and thought it matched the two perfectly. It was a great exercise to help me get out of my art block.

If anyone knows the artist for the base please let me know so I can properly credit them for the pose idea. by @bridgetpavalow

A storyboard workshop I presented to students who were interested in the animation industry last year. I also went over some core story elements such as a character’s external goals, internal goals, misbelief and the story circle template. All of these are important to understand storytelling as a whole. by @bridgetpavalow

This light and shadow worksheet has helped my students grow their skills and become more confident in their artwork. I created a lesson plan with a step-by-step tutorial starting with the classic sphere. I always encourage beginner artists to start with the basics, it'll help you understand the fundamentals easier in the long run. by @bridgetpavalow
