Painting yesterday in Palmeira Square, Hove, with lovely Brighton Painting Group. Bit chilly, but sunny. Lots of us there, thanks to our leader Adam Lemon. Carried on a bit with this later. #pleinairpainting #landscapepainting #acrylicpainting #palmeirasquare #hove #sussex #brightonpaintinggroup #worthingpaintinggroup #limitedpalette #worthingwestendgallery by @brightonpaintinggroup

Ah Palmeria Square is great spot to paint as a group, lots of space to spread out and choose, urban, park, sea or pigeons in my case! by @brightonpaintinggroup

Great job everyone! Certainly different conditions compared to last months 25 mph winds and clouds!

The sun was out all day, and despite a chilly morning start of 10 degrees things did pleasantly warm up for us.

It's a classic spot Palmeria Square that doesn't disappoint, lots of room for the group to spread out and choose all sorts of views from park, urban and the sea!

Thanks for all you positivity today, it made for a great day of painting and catching up! 💖

Palmeira Square this morning with #brightonpaintinggroup
#palmeirasquare by @brightonpaintinggroup

📅 Date > Saturday 17th of October

⌚ Time > 10:00 am to 13:30

🗺️ Location > 🌼 Palmeria Square

👋 Meet-Up Spot > Middle of the Square

Well that's decided, we're off to Palmeria Square!

It came in as a close 2nd for August's poll and we've not been back there since August 2022!

On the day we'll meet at 10:00 in the middle of the Square and probably start painting around 10:15. I'll hang around till about 10:30 before starting myself.

At 13:30, we’ll regroup to share our work and take a group photo. After that, anyone who fancies sticking around can join for a café stop for some more arty chats!

The long rage forecast seems to show no rain and lower wind speeds than last month🤞

Looking forward to seeing you next week, and happy painting in the meantime! 🎨

It was such a challenge to draw on Saturday outside. However, we had our art mition 😆 as an artist 🎨 with @brightonpaintinggroup
I really enjoyed 😉 my drawing sketche of the Angel of Peace on the Hove seasaid. Thanks to everybody who filed with the wind painting 🖼 their sketches.

I loved painting with the very friendly #brightonpaintinggroup. My thanks to #adamlemon for organising a stunning location and for being so welcoming! I loved the views looking out to West Pier.

Painting the twilight by the wild sea and high winds was exhilarating. It was very overcast, so we were never going to see a sunset at such, but I loved the subdued sky, the muted lemony horizon colours transform just before we were immersed in darkness and that’s a gift to witness by the sea.

Thinking of the possibilities for future twilight and nocturne paintings after seeing all the wonderful work fellow painters did. Finally, thanks to everyone for sharing photos.

Nocturne plein air painting in oils with the @brightonpaintinggroup looking at the i360 in Brighton.
It's pretty challenging doing glowing lights with oils, need to practice this some more.

What a turnout! 🌬️

Sunset/Twilight session! Well... the weather had other ideas... 19 mph winds, mist rolling in, and not a sunset in sight 😄

There were some cracking paintings that caught the mood of that evening together.

That's the thing about painting in a group. On your own you'd have taken one look at that sky and gone home.

@meeting_place_kitchen proved to be a very useful shelter too!
