Twenty years of loving our Addie girl! 🖤🎀🤍

Happy 20th Birthday to a girl who has held such a special place in my heart since the day she was born! What a blessing it has been to love you your entire life and watch you grow into such a beautiful, kind, thoughtful young woman. You have the sweetest heart, you’re a wonderful friend, and I couldn’t be more proud of the person you’re becoming!

One of the sweetest gifts in life is watching friendships grow through generations. These precious girls and their mamas mean so much to me. Their moms were all in my wedding, and now, all these years later, I have had the incredible privilege of watching their daughters grow up. What a gift to share life’s special moments with people you have loved for so long! ❤️

When I found out Ada would be in town for a family bridal shower, I knew we had to take advantage of having everyone together to celebrate our Addie girl!

My hysterectomy was originally scheduled for after the party, but when my surgery date changed, there was no way I was changing our celebration! Thankfully, my sweet husband helped me pull it all together. Between Camden’s football game and this birthday party, I think I’ve earned a week of resting and recovering! 😂

We celebrated with all things black bows, pearls, and a little birthday sparkle! We made homemade sugar scrubs in Addie’s favorite scent, vanilla, enjoyed some sweet treats, and sent the girls home with jewelry dishes, rings, hats, sunglasses, and bags. But the best part wasn’t any of those things. It was being together, laughing, making memories, and celebrating a girl we all love so much.

Addie, my prayer for your 20th year is that God’s favor surrounds you, His wisdom guides your steps, and His goodness fills your days. May this new decade bring beautiful friendships, incredible adventures, unexpected blessings, and countless reminders of just how deeply you are loved.

I love you so much, sweet girl! Watching you grow up has been one of life’s sweetest gifts, and I cannot wait to see all God has planned for you.

Happy 20th Birthday, Addie! Here’s to the beautiful young woman you are and all that is still by @brooke_nungesser

Upon returning from Poland - where Max (alone) read a gazillion books this summer - not to mention Jojo!!! I thought —- I can’t keep up with book buying ! So, we immediately went and renewed/got our library cards ! And - mine as well try and show up my kiddos - in the name of reading / so I checked out a murder mystery and a book on how to cultivate my own mushrooms ! Let’s go!!!!

Let’s be honest - here I am 50, driving my daughter’s 2000 Toyota Celica to work —- and I thought about complaining.
Then it hit me.
My mom drove a Datsun Hatchback with 3 children - and when she also took our friends, some of us laid down in the back of that hatchback trunk and went along for the ride.

And I don’t ever remember her complaining.

And so I decided - with that fun memory - to throw on some Dolly jams and enjoy my drive to work.

Because - it’s not about the mode of travel - it’s the fact that - in this world - we have a purpose - it’s to love Jesus and others. And if a 2000 Toyota Celica is one of our modes to get there and do that, then I hope people see me smiling along the way!

God is good.
And it is an honor to serve Him.

While you were, at one point, paragliding at about 2,000 meters over Lake Annecy in France 🇫🇷, you took time to share your adventure with us —- that is what you have done your entire life. You have and continue to live a life full of some of the most adventurous of adventures!!!! And this is just one reason you are the best dad ever. You literally show your children that the sky is not even scratching the limit. You set an example of how to be bold, take risks, and to do hard things!

Thank you, Richie, for all of the above and so much more.

Happy Father’s Day!!!!

We love you!

When your dad wakes before the sun to follow you to CA so you can drop your car on a big boat to send it to HI …

Perk: you get to finish the day sailing with him on the Pacific!

That’s what you get when your dad is a: mountaineer, pilot, rock climber, river rafter, paraglider, snowboarder —- oh, and sailor ⛵️

You get to learn the sailing ropes from the best of the best —- and rest a little on the boat to boot ;)

“Let’s go into a random cave, in the middle of a canyon - on the side of the mountain wall - where many wildlife most likely live …” said no one ever —- except possibly Richard 😜

Quite far into the cave:
Richard, “Oh! There’s animal droppings here. I’m not going any farther!”

That’s all it took for the girls to sprint to the light 🤣🤣🤣
