Your dream career might require you to do things that scare you. 🤎

Put yourself out there, take risks, and believe in yourself before you have all the answers.

You don’t have to feel ready or know how things will work out. Sometimes, you just have to take the leap and trust yourself enough to see where it leads.

Don’t let fear keep you from discovering your potential. Take the chance. You might surprise yourself. 🌞 by @brookethejournalist

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as an HBCUniverse 30 Under 30 Honorees in the Arts, Media & Culture category! Representing Morgan State Univeristy in this cohort is both an honor and a reminder of the power of HBCUs to cultivate leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

Closing out my time as a Communications & Community Engagement Fellow with the Baltimore City Department of Planning. 🤍

In just one year, I’ve grown so much professionally, from strengthening my skills in communications and community engagement to developing and leading my own government initiative project. This experience challenged me, taught me, and gave me a new perspective on the kind of impact I want to make through my career.

Grateful for the experience, the lessons, and the people who were part of this chapter. ✨

“Even if you don’t get a chance to pledge undergrad, are you still able to do it after college?”

Short answer: Yes.

Yesterday, I answered this question on a panel at the Jack & Jill Convention, and as someone who pledged Delta Sigma Theta after college, I wanted to share my perspective.

I’m on a line with women of all ages, proving that there’s no single timeline for answering the call to serve. Membership is about so much more than the college experience. If your heart is truly rooted in service, your path may simply begin through an alumnae chapter.

Your journey doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. Your dreams do not have an expiration date. ❤️🐘

For Days 2 & 3 of AFRAM 50, I asked attendees one simple question: “Describe AFRAM in 3 words.”

Let’s just say the overall theme was Black Joy. 🤎✨

From the music and food to the culture and community, AFRAM 50 was filled with unforgettable moments and even better people!

Can’t wait to see what next year brings. Until then, enjoy some of the voices that helped make AFRAM 50 one for the books! 🎉

Day 1 at AFRAM + Juneteenth ❤️🖤💚

I asked people, “What’s your favorite thing about being Black?”

These answers made me smile. ✨

Do you know where your Roots stem from? 🌱

During my senior year, my capstone project focused on the importance of young African Americans exploring their ancestry and reconnecting with their roots.

Knowing your lineage is knowing your power!

Three great places to begin your search:
1️⃣ Ancestry.com
2️⃣ FamilySearch.org
3️⃣ U.S. Census Bureau
(✨BONUS: ask your elders and relatives about your Roots! You will shocked at all of the stories they can tell!)

Can you share where your African American roots began?
