Last year my grandpa sold his childhood home in north central Wisconsin (to someone in the family). Although he lives in Massachusetts primarily he retained ownership of the house ever since his parents passed when I was young. Each summer growing up we would pack into a car and drive up to Wisconsin from Massachusetts. We would spend around a week at this house. I have thousands of great memories here and I’m sure he has millions more. So after he sold it I decided to make him a ceramic platter with a “portrait” of said house on it. The property always had an abundance of raspberries. So that’s the reason for the raspberry accents. I also included a couple process shots. I never took a decent photo of the platter but I had a good time making it. #ceramics #house #home #cone6 #clay by @chasesgarage

A little ceramics content for you all. Four years ago I made a bluegill mug for my grandpa for Christmas. I’ve continued to make a different fish mug for him since. This year was the year of the northern pike. I always have a good time making these, but damn do they take a while to paint. So after buying some small plastic bags to hold incense to go with my ceramic grills, I thought to myself “Hey, why not make tiny charcoal bags instead?” So with the help of @hiprandy we went into full production mode. So I present to you mini charcoal (incense) bags. Grill season is here! I’ve been slowly making some of these ceramic grill incense burners since the beginning of the year. A lot of trial and error but I think I’ve finally got it right. The grill itself is cone 6 ceramic casting slip, I weld the stands out of stainless steel, and the “metal” accents are done with a luster. Well the manual swap has been about 98% complete since last March, but this past week I banged out the final 2% by wiring my reverse lights and running a line to my boost gauge. Can’t wait for the road salt to ease up a bit so I can start driving this thing again. Shoutout to @pb5s4 for hooking it up with some new wastegates and turbo cartridges (the driverside wastegate wasn’t doing too hot). Also shoutout to @jhmotorsports for the transmission rebuild kit, @clutchmasters for the clutch, apikol for the adapter plate, and ringer racing for the flywheel. Never really posted any process pictures but here are a few.
