We are delighted to present our next event featuring Chris Greive on trombone and Graeme Stephen on guitar, long-time collaborators in performance, composition and improvisation. Founders of the award-winning trio NeWt  (albums include NeWt, NeWt North & Drip) alongside drummer Chris Wallace, they have continued to forge innovative and creative paths, together and with others. Chris Greive is an educator, producer, trombonist and composer with experience across a range of environments from curriculum development to small group jazz, production collaborations with rappers/singers, lecturing at the RCS, and multiple performance areas from jazz orchestras (as lead trombonist) through to fully improvised music. His projects have received national airplay (BBC Radio 6Music, BBC Radio2, Gilles Peterson's WorldwideFM). Collaborators include a diverse group including singers, DJs, rappers, songwriters, artists and spoken word creatives. Graeme Stephen leads and contributes to a multitude of musical projects in Scotland and overseas, playing a wide array of styles from free improvised jazz to Scottish folk. His improvisational skills and talent for composition make him one of Scotland’s most exciting musical talents. "Stephen's music speaks loudly of ambition, imagination, and harmonic adventure yet teemed with the sort of tuneful realisation that swells the heart" Rob Adams, The Herald Their Brown’s set will include a new iteration of their treatment of Led Zeppelin’s Moby Dick in collaboration with Tim Taylor. Taylor took residence at Brown's in 2025 culminating in his show Weights and Measures in January 2026. He performed his prose poem work “Ode to the Leith Water Shoals” at Brown's in 2025 with band Hansklammer. This was subsequently published in The Leither. The New Haven-style from @civerinos_official is thin, crispy, and blistered in the oven to give it that smoky crunch and deep deep flavour. Proper pizza made for the neighbourhood. Now serving up 20” pies and a selection of sides at Brown’s, so bring your whole crew. #charrednotburnt 📸 @cammeronstein by @browns.leith

Haze recently hosted the first of a new run of coffee sessions at Brown's of Leith. Head of Coffee Lewis walked guests through Haze's approach to specialty coffee service, with a close look at brewing on the OREA O1. To finish, everyone got behind the bar to brew their own. On Tuesday night with great pleasure Shore Leave welcomed, on the 10-string fiddle (the hardanger d'amore) and whistle, the remarkable Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh for a memorable night of music and storytelling. News of next month's event to follow soon... Strange vessels Pitched up at the shore Sailors dove into the dock Seeking to slake Their ten-fathom thirst Cobbles flew skyward Sailors intent, no repent Seeking the shanties Seeking the sounds Seeking the joys of land fall Sailors on shore leave Ghosts of the shoals The bar lined up with their souls To slake their throats And drink with land folk And curse any tender Who dared to resort To the slops in the trays The songs began Old Segotia Swallow Dive Our eyes misted up Dense mists deep swells Roaring rolling, lapping lulling Time stood still For all hands on land All hands on land on Shore Leave (Tim Taylor) #shoreleave #soundsatbrowns #brownsofleith @caoimhínoraghallaigh @browns.leith 📸 @andycatlincom by @browns.leith
