🕯️ Hallowtide: Three Days, One Communion of Saints 🕯️

Did you know that Halloween, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day are connected?

As Catholics, we celebrate Hallowtide—a time to reflect on the reality of death, the hope of eternal life, and our communion in Christ.

🎃 October 31 — Halloween (All Hallows’ Eve)

The vigil of All Saints’ Day, reminding us of the Christian hope that Christ has conquered sin and death.

👑 November 1 — All Saints’ Day

We honor all the saints in Heaven, both those recognized by the Church and the countless holy men and women known to God alone. Their lives remind us that we are all called to holiness!

🕊️ November 2 — All Souls’ Day

We remember and pray for the faithful departed, entrusting their souls to God’s mercy and offering our prayers for those undergoing purification in Purgatory.

❤️ Three days, one beautiful reminder: Our hope is in Christ, death does not have the final word, and we are all called to eternal communion with God.

May this Hallowtide deepen our love for the saints, renew our hope in the Resurrection, and inspire us to pray for our departed brothers and sisters.

🙏🏼 All you holy men and women, pray for us!

🙏🏼 Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

🕊️ Pope St. John Paul II — Be Not Afraid! 🕊️

Today, we honor the life, witness, and enduring legacy of Pope St. John Paul II—a shepherd who dedicated his life to Christ, served the Church with unwavering zeal, and inspired millions throughout the world to rediscover the beauty of faith, the dignity of the human person, and the transforming love of God.

From enduring the hardships of war and oppression in his homeland of Poland to shepherding the universal Church for nearly 27 years, his life was a powerful witness to courage, perseverance, and trust in Divine Providence.

Through his pastoral journeys, teachings, writings, the establishment of World Youth Day, and his unwavering defense of human dignity, he reminded the Church and the world that Jesus Christ is the answer to the deepest longings of the human heart.

His words continue to echo through the generations:

“Be not afraid! Open wide the doors to Christ!”

What a beautiful reminder that holiness does not mean living without fear, suffering, or uncertainty. Rather, it means allowing Christ to enter every part of our lives and trusting Him enough to follow wherever He leads.

And through his profound devotion to Our Blessed Mother, expressed in his episcopal motto, Totus Tuus (“Totally Yours”), he showed us the beauty of entrusting our entire lives to Jesus through Mary.

May we learn from his example to live boldly in the Gospel, defend the dignity of every human person, serve others with generous hearts, and never be afraid to proclaim Christ to the world.

St. John Paul II, pray for us! 🙏🏼❤️

Totus Tuus. Be not afraid. Open wide the doors to Christ.

🤍 St. Carlo Acutis — First Millennial Saint 🤍

Today, we honor St. Carlo Acutis, who was canonized on September 7, 2025! 🙏

St. Carlo is such a beautiful example of how holiness, sanctification, and becoming a saint is a calling for us all—not just priests and religious, but every single one of us! Especially for young adults, his life reminds us that we can pursue holiness right where God has placed us, using the gifts, talents, and technology of our time to evangelize and lead others closer to Christ.

As Carlo reminds us, “The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.” ✨

May we, like Carlo and all the saints, continually point others toward Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the center of our lives and the source of our holiness. May we grow to become more like Him each day, especially through the gift of the Holy Eucharist and spending time with Him in Eucharistic Adoration.

May St. Carlo Acutis intercede for us, that we may never settle for mediocrity, but strive for holiness in the ordinary moments of our lives, faithfully responding to God’s grace and allowing Him to make us saints!

St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us! 🤍

🩵 St. Faustina — Apostle of Divine Mercy 🩵

Today we celebrate St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, whose life reminds us of the simple yet profound invitation:

“Jesus, I trust in You.”

To trust Jesus is to let His mercy reach even the deepest places of our hearts—to surrender what we cannot control, receive the grace He gives, and allow Him to work in us.

This season has been teaching me that Fiat is not about having everything figured out, but simply saying:

“Let it be done, my Lord.”

St. Faustina, pray for us, that we may trust more deeply in the merciful Heart of Jesus and allow His grace to make us whole.

Jesus, I trust in You. 🩵

🕊️ Feast of the Holy Archangels — St. Michael, St. Gabriel & St. Raphael

As we conclude St. Michael’s Lent, I’ve been reflecting on how much the Lord has been doing in my life this past year.

Honestly, I’m a little speechless.

This season has been teaching me something I’m calling Fiat—learning to trust God more deeply, to receive His grace, and to stop feeling like I always need to know what comes next.

For someone who has spent much of his life doing, leading, working, planning, and moving forward, I’m learning that sometimes faithfulness looks much simpler:

Remain. Receive. Trust. Be faithful in the ordinary.

Through the Spiritual Exercises and a deeper devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows, I’ve been learning that Mary’s Fiat wasn’t only a “yes” to going—it was also a yes to remaining beneath the Cross when she didn’t understand everything.

And today, I’m grateful for the witness of the three Archangels:

St. Michael — teach us to stand firm in the battle.
St. Gabriel — teach us the humility of Mary’s Fiat.
St. Raphael — accompany us along the journey and lead us toward the healing God desires.

I don’t know exactly what comes next, and I’m learning that I don’t have to.

For today, I simply ask for the grace to remain faithful, obedient, and receptive to whatever Jesus places before me.

Take, Lord, receive.
Fiat, my Lord. 🤍

🌹 Our Lady of Sorrows — September 15

Today we honor the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady and the Immaculate Heart that remained united to Jesus through every sorrow.

The more I’ve been meditating on Our Lady of Sorrows, the more I’ve come to see her Fiat in a deeper way.

Her “yes” at the Annunciation was not a one-time yes.

It continued through Simeon’s prophecy, the Flight into Egypt, losing Jesus in the Temple, the road to Calvary, standing beneath the Cross, receiving His Body, and finally placing Him in the tomb.

She didn’t understand everything.
She couldn’t control everything.
But she remained.

Fiat at the Annunciation.
Stabat beneath the Cross.

I’ve found this devotion to be such a beautiful school of trust, surrender, and love—and I want to share it with others.

May Our Lady of Sorrows teach us to remain with Jesus in our own crosses, to surrender what we cannot control, and to trust Him even when we cannot see what comes next.

🌹 Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
❤️ Teach us your Fiat.
🙏 Teach us to remain with Jesus.

Looking back with a grateful heart on my Missionary Year with NET Ministries. ❤️‍🔥

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve on Team 7’s Discipleship Team, accompanying and serving the youth of Newaygo County.

Although my time with NET was shorter than I originally anticipated, I’m grateful for the formation, experiences, and especially the brothers and sisters the Lord gave me along the way. My Team 7 family will always hold a special place in my heart, and the friendships and fraternity we shared are gifts I’ll continue to carry with me.

To everyone who supported me as a sponsor, prayed for me, and encouraged me—thank you. Your generosity and prayers made this experience possible, and I’m truly grateful.

As I continue into this new season, I’m learning to receive what the Lord gives, trust His timing, and simply continue to say yes.

Continuing to pray for you all. May Our Lord bless NET, Team 7, the youth of Newaygo County, and all those who continue to say yes to His call.

May His Will Be Done. Fiat. ❤️‍🔥 by @bryan_hieu_mai

🏋️‍♂️🔥 Looking Back: My 1st CrossFit Games | “FitFam Fusion” 💪🏼

Looking back on my first CrossFit Games with @midstate.crossfit and getting to compete alongside @mb2cg as “FitFam Fusion,” I’m filled with so much gratitude. 🤍

At the time, I was focused on the workouts, pushing myself, competing, and seeing what we could accomplish together. But looking back now, I realize it was about so much more than what happened on the competition floor.

It was about the people, the friendships, the encouragement, the struggles, the laughter, and all the ways we pushed each other to grow.

CrossFit taught me so much about discipline, perseverance, humility, and simply showing up. But one lesson I’m continuing to carry with me is that growth doesn’t always mean going harder.

There are seasons to push.
Seasons to recover.
Seasons to compete.
And seasons to simply be present and receive.

Right now, I’m in a much slower season of rest, reflection, and discerning where God is leading me next. And even though this chapter looks different, I’m grateful for the lessons and relationships from this season that continue to shape me.

I don’t know exactly what the next chapter will look like, but I trust that God is continuing to form me through each season.

One step at a time.
One Fiat at a time. 🕊️

Grateful for the memories, the people, and the lessons. Here’s to whatever God has next. 🙏🏼

🇫🇷🤍 Lourdes Pilgrimage | “I am the Immaculate Conception” 🕊️

Continuing from the YTOL International Meeting in Paris, I had the incredible grace of making a pilgrimage to Lourdes. It’s difficult to put this experience fully into words, but I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to simply be there with Our Lady and bring everything—and everyone—into prayer.

Before leaving for France, so many of you entrusted me with your intentions, prayers, families, and loved ones. To all of my sponsors, supporters, family, friends, and prayer warriors: thank you. Your generosity and prayers helped make this trip possible, and I carried you with me throughout my time in France.

One of the greatest graces was being able to bring your intentions directly to the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Standing there and praying for each of you was something I will always be grateful for. 🤍

I also brought with me the names and intentions of so many loved ones, asking Our Lady to intercede for each person according to the Heart of her Son. There was something so beautiful about realizing that even though I was physically far from home, I wasn’t traveling alone.

Lourdes reminded me again that God meets us in our humanity—with our joys, wounds, hopes, questions, and everything we carry—and Our Lady continually leads us closer to Jesus.

After the International Meeting, this pilgrimage felt like another beautiful continuation of the Lord’s invitation in this season: to receive, to trust, to surrender, and to give my own little Fiat more deeply.

I don’t know everything the Lord is doing or where He is leading me next, but I’m learning more and more to simply say:

“Fiat. May Your Will be done.” 🕊️

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
St. Bernadette, pray for us.
St. Michael, St. Gabriel & St. Raphael, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. 🤍

And to everyone who supported this journey in any way—thank you for allowing me to carry your prayers with me to Lourdes.

You were there with me in prayer. 🇫🇷🤍🕊️ by @bryan_hieu_mai

🇫🇷🇻🇦YTOL International Meeting | Paris 2026 🇫🇷🇻🇦

What an incredible grace it was to be part of the YTOL International Meeting in Paris! 🕊️

I’m still reflecting on all that the Lord allowed me to experience during this time—not only the beauty of Paris, but even more so the beautiful people He placed in my path.

One of my greatest joys was meeting so many young adults from across the country and around the world, forming new friendships, sharing our stories, praying together, and simply getting to know one another. ❤️

It was such a beautiful experience to encounter so many different cultures, languages, traditions, and ways of expressing our faith, while recognizing that beneath all of those differences, we are one in Christ and members of the same universal Church.

There was something especially moving about praying together in different languages, hearing different voices blend together in worship, and realizing that the Catholic Church truly is catholic—universal. 🌎✝️

From the friendships made, conversations shared, laughter, prayer, Adoration, the Holy Mass, and all the little moments in between, I’m incredibly grateful for the memories and the people God allowed me to encounter.

I came to Paris expecting an international gathering.

I left with a deeper appreciation for the communion of the Church and so many new brothers and sisters in Christ.

Thank you, YTOL, for bringing us together and creating a space where young adults from so many different places could encounter Christ and one another.

Until we meet again! 🇫🇷🕊️

Fiat, Fiat, Fiat, meu Senhor. 🤍 by @bryan_hieu_mai

There are some experiences that are simply difficult to put into words.

From June 10 – July 14, I had the immense gift of making the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in silence.

Looking back, I don’t think the Lord was merely teaching me something new—He was gently reaching the deeper places of my heart. So much of what happened was interior: receiving His love more deeply, allowing Him to heal old wounds, reorder my desires, and invite me to trust Him in a new way.

One word continued to echo throughout the retreat:

Fiat.

“Let it be done unto me according to Your word.” (Luke 1:38)

The Lord has been teaching me that the spiritual life is not first about producing, striving, or trying harder. It is first about receiving His grace, remaining faithful to it, and allowing Him to do what only He can.

I left the retreat with far more peace than I entered with—not because every question was answered, but because I encountered the One who is faithful.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who prayed for me during this time. Please continue to pray that I may remain faithful to the graces the Lord has given and continue to say “yes” to whatever He asks.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam. ✝️

“Take, Lord, receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will… Give me only Your love and Your grace, for that is enough for me.”
