🧬 YOUR MOUTH CAN TELL US MORE THAN YOU THINK!

At Bucks County Smiles, we believe in looking beyond the symptoms to understand what may actually be contributing to your oral health concerns.

Oral DNA testing gives us a closer look at the bacteria present in your mouth, helping our team better understand your individual risk factors and create a more personalized approach to your care. 🦷✨

Because when it comes to gum health, the more we know, the more targeted your treatment can be. 💙🧡

🦷 Celebrating National Dental Hygiene Month!

This month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on our Hygiene Lead, Kristin, and the important work she does every day at Bucks County Smiles.

With years of experience in dental hygiene and a strong passion for integrative dental medicine, Kristin believes that exceptional dental care goes far beyond a cleaning. She is passionate about educating patients on the connection between oral health and whole-body health, especially when it comes to periodontal disease.

Kristin takes the time to help patients understand what’s happening beneath the surface and why inflammation and periodontal disease can have an impact beyond the mouth. Her goal is to empower every patient with the knowledge and tools they need to take an active role in their health.

We’re so grateful to have Kristin leading our hygiene team and bringing her expertise, compassion, and commitment to patient education to our practice every day.

Happy National Dental Hygiene Month, Kristin! We’re lucky to have you on our team. 🦷🪥😁

🦷 Give your gums a little extra protection!
Brushing and flossing are essential, but harmful bacteria can hide below the gumline in areas that can be difficult to reach with your daily routine alone. That’s where Perio Protect can help!
Using customized trays and Perio Gel, Perio Protect helps:
✨ Reduce harmful bacteria
🦷 Help prevent infection
💙 Support healing and long-term gum health
We recommend Perio Protect as an additional tool for our patients to help support healthier gums and maintain their oral health between visits.
Want to learn more? Ask our team about Perio Protect at your next appointment! 😊

Why do gums bleed? 🦷

Bleeding gums can be more than just a dental concern. They’re often a sign of inflammation caused by plaque buildup and can be one of the earliest signs of gingivitis.

At Bucks County Smiles, we take an integrative approach to dentistry, because your mouth doesn’t exist separately from the rest of your body. Oral inflammation can impact overall health, which is why we look beyond the symptoms and focus on the bigger picture.

Healthy gums are part of a healthy body. If your gums are bleeding, don’t ignore the signal‼️

🦷 BEHIND THE SCENES AT BUCKS COUNTY SMILES

September is Dental Infection Control Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to highlight an important part of patient care that you may not always see.

Before our instruments are ready for your appointment, they go through a carefully controlled process of cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and storage. Our sterilization area and equipment play an important role in helping us maintain a clean and safe environment for our patients and team.

✨ You may never see this part of your visit, but we never stop thinking about it.

Because exceptional dental care isn’t just about what happens in the treatment chair, it’s about the standards we follow behind the scenes, too.

This month, we’re shining a light on the infection prevention practices that are an important part of every patient’s experience at Bucks County Smiles. 🛡️

✨ Employee Shoutout: Caren! 🦷

This month, we’re celebrating Caren, our Executive Assistant to our Clinical Director and a true behind-the-scenes powerhouse at Bucks County Smiles! 💙

For more than 3 years, Caren has been an integral part of our team, supporting both the clinical and administrative sides of the practice. From helping coordinate clinical operations and supporting the needs of our providers and clinical team to helping create a smooth, comfortable experience for our patients, Caren is always ready to step in wherever she’s needed.

And she doesn’t just stay behind the scenes! You’ll often find Caren working directly with patients, assisting with clinical services such as Zoom Whitening, supporting patient care and education, and helping make sure our patients feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their experience. ✨

Caren also takes our mission beyond the walls of the practice. She has volunteered her time and expertise at our Healthy Mouth Assemblies at local elementary schools, helping educate children about the importance of oral health and building healthy habits from an early age. 🪥🦷

And if you follow us on social media, chances are you’ve seen Caren in one of our videos! 🎥 She’s always willing to jump in, share her knowledge, and help us showcase the people and care that make Bucks County Smiles special.

Caren, thank you for more than 3 years of dedication, flexibility, and genuine care for our patients and our team. We’re so lucky to have you! 🧡
