Apparently our WA customers know how to make us jealous. 😂

While we're busy in the workshop, they're out exploring some pretty spectacular country and sending us the evidence.

A couple of awesome photos sent through by our WA customers showing off their rigs fitted with Bud's bullbars.

We love seeing our gear out there doing its thing, especially when the scenery looks this good.

And don't forget - we ship Australia-wide! 🇦🇺

**Why settle for a front bar that just looks tough? **

Throwback to Aaron's D-MAX, which came through the Bud's workshop for a bit of front-end treatment.

Our D-MAX front bars aren't just about looks. There's a fair bit of thought that goes into what you get as standard.

👊 LED fog lights
👊 LED indicators
👊 Recovery points
👊 Lower infill panel
👊 Under-wing guards

All designed with **high clearance, a high approach angle and strength** in mind.

Because a good front bar should do a whole lot more than make your ute look pretty.

**And yes, we've currently got these in stock!**

Another batch of Bud's gear ready to head out the door.

Rear recovery points, fabricated brackets and plenty of good old-fashioned steelwork.

Not everything we make is flashy, but there's a fair bit of work that goes into getting these parts ready to bolt onto someone's 4WD.

Why buy a new bullbar only to make it look like it came from the factory? 👀

Because sometimes that's exactly the look you're going for.

Throwback to Chris's SR 48V N80 Hilux, fitted with our Gen 3 Triple Hoop Front Bar.

Chris went with a full colour match to the vehicle, and it works!

But there's more to this setup than just a good-looking front end.

There's a fair bit of thought that goes into designing a bar that fits the vehicle properly, provides the protection you're after and still looks the part.

Chris also fitted a pair of our towbar lift brackets to finish off the setup.

Proof that you don't have to go black to make a bullbar look tough by @budscustoms

**Ever noticed the rear wheels on a V8 70 Series don't follow the fronts?**

No, you're not imagining it.

From the factory, there's approximately 95mm difference between the front and rear track widths.

That means your rear tyres are cutting their own path through sand and soft ground instead of following the fronts.

And that's exactly why we developed our Rite Track 80mm Kit.

After 18 months of development and testing, we came up with replacement rear hubs that increase the track by 40mm per side - 80mm overall.

No wheel spacers. No complicated changes to the factory axle shafts, bearings or brakes.

Just properly engineered replacement hubs designed to bring those rear wheels much closer to following the fronts.

It's one of those problems you might never have noticed.

But now you'll never unsee it. 😂

**Got a lifted D-MAX? We've got something for the front of it. **

Our **MK3 D-MAX Triple Hoop Front Bar – BG-002610** is built specifically for the 07/2020–2024 models running a **50mm (2") body lift**.

We've taken what we've learnt from years of building our popular Hilux bars and put it into the D-MAX.

And like all our bars, we don't believe in making you pay extra for every little thing.

Here's what you get:
- 4mm steel main bar with 6mm mounting plates and brackets
- Winch compatible with popular low-mount winches
- Pair of rated recovery points included
- 40W LED fog/driving lights and clear LED indicators
- 48mm centre hoop and 42mm wing tubes
- Aerial tab, lower infill plate and splash guards included

All finished in Dulux Zeus Matt Black powder coat and **handmade right here in our Queensland workshop.** 🇦🇺

No flimsy bits. No unnecessary extras to add to the bill. Just a proper bit of Bud's gear for your D-MAX.

**Designed. Then built.**

Same Gen 2 thinking. Different rear long arm setup.

Last week we showed you our GQ/GU Patrol Rear Heim Long Arm Kit. This time, it's our Gen 2 Rear Lower Long Arm Kit for your Nissan GQ or GU patrol.

And just like the Heim version, we've put a fair bit of thought into making this kit better for both the Patrol owner AND the bloke fitting it.

🔧 Half the install time – We've made installation a whole lot simpler, meaning the extra you spend on the kit can be saved in labour.

👊 Stronger brackets – With a plug-weld slot that makes fitting easier, especially on wagons.

🔩 Slider mounting points – Already incorporated into the bracket design. One less thing to work around later.

Because there's no point designing a better kit if it's still a pain in the arse to install.

Less time fitting. More time wheeling.

We originally did a major build on this Jeep in 2014:
Rear 4 Link
Dana 60 Rear Axle
Rear Coilovers
Custom Rear Tank
Rear Quarter Protection
Front Tube Guards
Belly up plate (to name a few)

Vehicle changed hands twice, and the current owner wanted to get it finished up like it should be.

So this time around we got the matching Currie high pinion 60 and sourced all the parts, needing to get it in with a custom 5 link front, and coil overs to complete the vehicle.

Unfortunately on its first weekend out, a misjudged rock took the tail shaft out but a simple repair and Bambam will be back on the trail. by @budscustoms

If you know, you know.

Installing bearings as part of a Nissan Patrol reduction gear setup.

To most people, probably not the most exciting thing to watch.

But to the true 4WD enthusiasts… this is the good stuff. by @budscustoms

A better rear long arm kit shouldn’t just work better. It should be easier to fit too.

That’s exactly why we redesigned our GQ/GU Patrol Rear Heim Lower Long Arm Kit – Gen 2 (SC-002220).

After years of fitting our own kits and other brands, we knew there had to be a better way. So we built one.

Here’s what makes this kit different:

👉🏻 Around half the install time – Our double-shear bracket design eliminates the need to hole-saw through the chassis rail, saving a heap of labour. That little extra you spend on the kit can be saved on installation.

👉🏻 Stronger mounting brackets – Built from 6mm and 8mm steel, with a plug-weld slot that makes installation easier, particularly on wagons.

👉🏻 Engineering support – We can supply testing data to assist with engineering approval for road use, including higher rear axle loading as part of GVM upgrades. Final approval is subject to your engineer and applicable requirements.

👉🏻 Slider mounting provision – We’ve even incorporated mounting points for rock sliders into the bracket design.

And of course, you still get the benefits of rear long arms — reduced rear steer, less pinion angle change and better axle behaviour when climbing obstacles.

Less mucking around fitting it. More time actually using the Patrol. 😏
