Mission: To protect and preserve the black community in Bed Stuy and beyond by providing financial relief for black-owned businesses and organizations

POSTS STORIES REELS

The historical patterns that contribute to displacement and gentrification appear to be cyclical. Recognizing the patterns might better arm us on how to be prepared as well as what kind of solutions to look for. The shift isn’t just a change in visibility, it’s very much emotional and the waves of grief, rage, and sadness are real. We have to keep our voices loud and not just reactionary when another injustice presents itself.

As we find ways to better serve the community the last slide provides some alternative resources that target displacement, food insecurity, racial injustice in this neighborhood as well as home ownership. Please feel free to include any further resources in the comments. by @buildingblackbedstuy

We are thrilled to be the final installment of the Love Thy Community program, in collaboration with Kith and Vans by Vault. Since 2020, we have been devoted to uplifting our neighbors in Bed-Stuy and helping them find financial relief. Our journey wouldn't have been possible without the steadfast support of our community, and our commitment remains focused on preserving our collective identities while propelling ourselves forward.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Kith for a discussion on community, gentrification, and our exclusive Vault by Vans capsule. For the complete interview, please visit Kith.com. You can purchase this special collection for presale at the link in our bio, or at our last market this Sunday, 10/8, at 343 Tompkins Avenue from 12-5pm. 100% of the proceeds from sales will go to our 2023 Donation recipients: The United Order of the Tents, The Hattie Carthan Herban Farm, and Alfreda’s Cinema. by @buildingblackbedstuy
