Welcome to Bumps Along The Way 🤍🦋

Whether you’ve been here for a while or you’ve only just found this little corner of the internet, I’m so glad you’re here.

I created Bumps Along The Way from my own experiences of pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood. After struggling with anxiety during my first pregnancy and postpartum depression afterwards, I knew how lonely this journey could feel, even when you’re surrounded by people.

I wanted to create the kind of space I wish I’d had 🤍

A place for TTC, pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding and feeding, motherhood, women’s health and all the wonderfully messy bits in between.

No judgement. No pretending everything is perfect. Just honest conversations, useful information, shared experiences and women supporting women 🫶🏻

So whether you’re here looking for advice, reassurance, recommendations, a community, or simply someone who gets it, you’re always welcome here.

Different journeys. Same support. 🤍

Here’s to making motherhood a little less lonely and the days a little brighter, together 🦋

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here 🤍

I created Bumps Along the Way because during my first pregnancy, I felt really alone, scared, and unsure… and I didn’t have anyone I could truly talk to.

Pregnancy isn’t always easy.
It can be beautiful, but it can also feel overwhelming, emotional, and sometimes quite lonely.

This space is here for the in-between moments —
the worries, the overthinking, the questions you might not feel able to say out loud.

You don’t have to go through it alone.

I’m not here as a professional, just as someone who’s been there and understands how it can feel.

If you ever need someone to talk to, my messages are always open 🤍

You are seen. You are supported. You are not alone.

Love,
Bumps Along the Way ✨ by @bumpsalongtheway__

💌 DEAR MAMA… 🤍

This one’s for you 🥹

The mama who’s running on broken sleep.

The mama who feels like she’s constantly giving but never quite doing enough.

The mama who’s touched out, overwhelmed, overstimulated and desperately craving five minutes to herself.

The mama who looks around at the washing, the dishes, the toys scattered everywhere and wonders how everyone else seems to have it all together.

The mama who sometimes loses her patience and then spends the rest of the day feeling guilty.

I see you. We see you. 🤍

Motherhood isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, loving fiercely, learning as you go and doing the best you can with what you have.

Some days you’ll feel like you’re absolutely smashing it. Other days, simply making it through until bedtime will be your biggest achievement.

And BOTH deserve to be celebrated.

Your children don’t need a perfect mama. They need you.

The cuddles, the laughter, the reassurance, the love and even the apologies when things don’t go to plan.

So, dear mama…

Please give yourself the same kindness, patience and love that you give everyone else.

You’re doing so much better than you think 🥹💕

💌 Save this for the days motherhood feels a little heavier.

🫶 Share it with a mama who deserves to hear these words today.

And if nobody has told you lately, I’m proud of you 🤍

With love,
Bumps Along the Way 🦋

464 Bumps. 464 beautiful reasons to keep going 🥹🤍

When I started Bumps Along the Way, I had one simple hope: to create a little corner of the internet where women could feel heard, understood and supported.

A place where we could talk openly about TTC, pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, motherhood and everything in between.

The beautiful moments, the messy moments, the difficult conversations and the things nobody prepares us for 🦋

And somehow, this little community has grown to 464 of you 🥹💕

Every follow, like, comment, message and share genuinely means so much. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or only just found us, I’m so grateful you’re here.

We’re now just 36 Bumps away from 500, and I’d absolutely love your help reaching more women who might need a little extra support 🤍

If this community has ever made you smile, feel understood or reminded you that you’re not alone, please consider sharing our page with another mama, mama-to-be or woman who might need us.

Because motherhood was never meant to be navigated alone.

Different journeys. Same support. Motherhood together. 🤍🦋

With love,
Bumps Along the Way 💕

OUR LITTLE ONE’S ECZEMA JOURNEY 🥹🤍

There’s something so heartbreaking about seeing your little one’s delicate skin looking red, dry and irritated, especially when all you want to do is make them comfortable 💔

My youngest has been struggling with patches of eczema, and as her mama, I’ve been trying to find a gentle skincare routine that works for her.

When @salcura kindly offered to send us some products to try, I was so grateful 🤍

We received their Bioskin Junior Daily Nourishing Spray and Rescue Cream, and I’ve been incorporating them into her skincare routine.

The spray is so handy when you’ve got a wriggly little one who doesn’t fancy sitting still 😂 And we’ve also been trying the Rescue Cream on areas needing a little extra care.

At the end of this reel, I’ve shared something quite personal: photographs of her skin before, during and currently.

Seeing how much calmer her skin looks now is such a relief 🥹

Eczema can be unpredictable, and every little one’s skin is different. We’re still learning what works best for her, but I’m so pleased to see some improvement.

A huge thank you to @salcura for kindly gifting us these products and allowing us to share this little part of our journey 🤍

To my fellow mamas navigating eczema with their little ones, I’d love to hear from you.

💗 What has helped your little one’s skin?

💗 Have you tried Salcura before?

💗 Are you still trying to find a routine that works?

Let’s share our experiences and support one another. Sometimes the smallest bit of advice can mean the world to another mama 🦋🤍

HONEST MOTHERHOOD CHAT 🐻🤍

Today I’m putting my pride aside and asking my little village for help.

Because sometimes even Mama Bear needs looking after too 🥹

This is the side of motherhood we don’t always talk about, and I know I can’t be the only mama feeling this way.

#HonestMotherhood #bumpsalongthewayarenormal

Nearly 17 months of broken nights, and I’m running on empty 🥹

Some nights I’m up five times, others even more. I’ve genuinely forgotten what waking up feeling rested is like.

I love being her safe place, but the exhaustion is catching up with me.

Please tell me I’m not the only mama who’s reached this point 🤍

#ToddlerSleep #SleepDeprivedMum

Calling all breastfeeding mamas and baby bottle brands! 🍼🤍

My little one is quite possibly the world’s biggest boob enthusiast 😂

Bottles, straws, sippy cups… we’ve tried them all!

I’d absolutely LOVE recommendations for a bottle she’ll accept, ideally glass.

What worked for your breastfed little one? Please share your secrets because this mama needs them! 🥹

#BreastfeedingSupport #BreastfedToddler

This is probably the most vulnerable I’ve felt sharing something on here 🥹

I love my girls more than words could ever explain. I’m grateful for our life and everything we have.

But I can be grateful and still be struggling.

Sometimes I want a moment where nobody needs me. A moment where I’m not constantly listening out for the next cry.

And admitting that makes me emotional.

If you’ve ever felt this way, please know you’re not alone 🤍

#MotherhoodUnfiltered #MaternalMentalHealth

I don’t need a magic solution. I just need a little breathing room 🤍

I don’t want to stop breastfeeding. I love our bond and everything our journey has given us.

I just want my partner to be able to take over sometimes so I can have a proper stretch of sleep.

So I’m asking my village…

What helped you share the night wakings? Did your breastfed toddler eventually accept a bottle or cup?

All experiences and recommendations are welcome 🥹🦋

Whoever said motherhood makes you a morning person clearly never met me 😂☕️

Just because I’m awake at 5am doesn’t mean I’m enjoying it!

I’m not a morning person, I’m simply a sleep-deprived mum being held hostage by tiny humans who apparently don’t believe in lie-ins 😭🤍

And let’s be real, if a bear was chasing me, I’d run too. Doesn’t mean I’ve suddenly developed a passion for running 🐻😂

Where are all my fellow NOT-so-morning-person mamas?! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Tell me, what time did your little one decide the day was starting this morning? 👀

🐾 Share this with a mama who’s surviving on caffeine, cuddles and approximately three hours of sleep!

Sunday morning mum chat ☕️🤍

There’s so much about motherhood that we celebrate, but also so much we quietly carry.

The loneliness even when we’re never alone, the guilt over the smallest things, the exhaustion, the changes in ourselves and the overwhelming love that somehow makes it all worthwhile 🥹

Sometimes all we need is another mum to say, “Me too, I feel that way.”

So this morning, let’s have a little heart-to-heart 💕

What’s one thing about motherhood you wish people spoke about more openly?

It can be something beautiful, something difficult or something you never expected.

I’ll share mine in the comments too 🦋

Remember, Bumps, you’re never alone here 🤍

I didn’t expect carving a pumpkin to make me emotional tonight 🥹🎃

Four years ago, we took the first photo to announce that our little pumpkin was on the way.

“Baby. Due May 2023.” 🤍

Tonight, that very same little baby sat beside me and helped me carve a pumpkin of her own.

It’s funny how the smallest moments can suddenly make you realise just how quickly it’s all going.

One minute you’re staring at a scan photo, wondering who this tiny person is going to be…

and then somehow, you blink, and they’re three years old, carving pumpkins with you 🥹

From being our little pumpkin to carving pumpkins with Mummy 🎃🤍
