One of the craziest characters the stage has ever known was HAIR producer Adela Holzer, a notorious grifter who once claimed she was married to David Rockefeller and Storm Thurman (she wasn’t).

She spent a total of 14 years behind bars for numerous cons. Her attorney was another infamous character, Roy Cohn.

Upon one arrest, when detectives approached her on East 43rd St., she ran and had to be caught and pinned on a car hood to be handcuffed. She thought the three detectives were muggers, she said later.

Episode 5 delves into other “scandals” from the stage, including Jeremy Piven and Sushigate, the time Piven departed a hot revival of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow citing mercury poisoning from eating too much sushi. Months of snark followed culminating with a very real arbitration between Piven and the show’s producer, Jeffrey Richards. At the end, Mamet came out the winner with his official quote on the matter: “It is my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer."
