My master copy
Bartolomeo Manfredi, second decade of the 17th century, oil on canvas.
Italian painter, and one of the leading exponents of Roman Caravaggism. Caravaggism is a style of European Baroque painting that emerged in Rome in the late 16th century.
Before entering the museum, it was attributed to an anonymous 17th-century Southern Italian master.
Caravaggism is characterized by an acute sense of physical objectivity, materiality of representation, active use of chiaroscuro contrasts, and a strong interest in the direct reproduction of nature.
The artist's life was short—only 40 years—yet he managed to create masterpieces that entered the annals of history.

As a first step, a fine-grained canvas was selected and prepared with a glue-chalk ground; each layer of the ground was then smoothly sanded.
Following this, an imprimatura was applied, mirroring the artist's original technique.

1. Modeling of shadows executed by wiping.
2. Introduction of cool half-tones using the wiping method with white lead, followed by the enhancement of light zones through a semi-opaque technique.
3. Application of thin glazes. by @by.ogny
