POSTS STORIES REELS

Just about a year ago, after a long season of burnout, the Lord inspired me with something new. ✨ •
•
Photographer, metalsmith, creative director, and most importantly, steward.
•
My name is Lauren, and I have been graciously called to cultivate and steward BY THE MAKER.
•
I am a creative through and through, with a knack for administration. I am awed daily by God and His creation, finding deep inspiration in what He has made. I am a wife to my husband of over eight years, Billy @wrs_iv , and we are building a life we love with Christ at the center. We own a small homestead with family, complete with our 12 chickens and our cat, Artoo. We love to travel and adventure, yet we find so much peace in quiet days at our home. We share a love for music and good food and are grateful for the marriage we have been cultivating.
•
There is so much beauty in artistry and craftsmanship, and I am grateful to be able to share that beauty through the work of my hands, as well as partner with other creatives to empower them to do the same.
•
From photography, woodworking, and metalworking to design and more, BY THE MAKER’s purpose is to glorify God and reflect His design in everything we craft and do.
•
We have been made, we have been called, and we have been chosen. What an honor to participate in adding more beauty to the world. • follow @by.the.maker for so much more!

A little unconventional, a little heirloom, and so good layered. ✨

These featured pieces are bringing something special to the collection this holiday season. From sculptural chain links to the deep garnet at the heart of a handmade cross pendant, each piece has its own character — the kind of jewelry that makes a statement without trying too hard.

Available at select holiday vendor markets this season, these pieces are limited, and the garnet cross is a true one of a kind. 🤎

See something catching your eye? Send me a DM — you might just snag your favorite piece before the holidays! •

A little look into the process 🌼🌼 • this is one of my favorite designs and these rings are available to order online right now, and each one is handmade just like this. ✨
•
What do we think, should I make a small batch of these to have available at @bellevillemarket for the holidays?? 🤔☺️ •

Somewhere between summer and fall. ✨
•
Soaking up the last of the golden light.
Tall grasses, warm skin, and little pieces of gold catching the sun as we linger a little longer in the season we’re not quite ready to leave.
•
But the evenings are getting cooler, the layers are coming out (like this block printed vintage jacket, coming soon) and slowly, almost imperceptibly, summer is giving way to something new. 🍂
•
Adornments made to move with you through it all — sun-kissed in the summer, layered for fall, and lived in long after.
•
Here’s to savoring the in-between. 🤎

BY THE MAKER | Updates coming soon ✨ September is right around the corner and that means I’ll finally have some things ready to update and share! In the meantime shop online or locally at the incredible @bellevillemarket ✨ • see you soon! by @by.the.maker

Every so often, I come across a stone that completely captures my imagination and inspires a season of creating.

Lately, it’s been Herkimer diamonds.

I love their raw beauty—the inclusions, the texture, and the tiny imperfections that make each one entirely unique. There’s something special about a stone that reveals its character rather than hiding it. Full of natural detail and untamed beauty, each one feels like a small reminder that perfection was never the goal.

These designs are part of the More Precious collection, a line inspired by the beauty and value found in things that are beautifully imperfect.

Each of these pieces are one of a kind and are available exclusively at @bellevillemarket ✨
If you’re local, stop in and see them in person—the beauty of Herkimer diamonds is best appreciated up close.
