Some numbers:
- 40,000 km
- 4800L diesel
- 9600$ for fuel
- 1/2 breakdown (luckily I’ve checked all fluids every morning so could prevent worse 💪🏼)
- 4 services
- 3 repairs
- 0 flat tyres

Yesterday was time to say farewell to my beloved 4WD Mathilda. After buying a shitty camper van I was so happy to have found her. Even she was quite pricey for a backpacker and I was literally broke after the purchase haha I’d probably do it again. When you do drive solo all around Australia you want to be safe not sorry. I have seen places that many Australian will never see. While creating this post I realised what a huge journey this actually was. 🙈😆

The buggy stopped. The heat didn’t. 😅

Cyprus national park, one broken buggy, a bit of wait in the shade, and then the most beautiful beaches and waters. Not the plan, but honestly one of my favourite days of that holiday. Props go out to @pr_rentals_anything_on_wheels for their super fast and kind service.

Would you rather get stuck somewhere beautiful or never leave your comfort zone? Let me know in the comments 👇🏻

The mornings here lately are just like in a picture book. I am having my own shire from lord of the rings right behind the yard. Peaceful, quiet, blue sky, green fields everywhere. What else could you need??

No Filter needed. 🌞🌾🌱
7.30am in the field. Crisp cold air, deers grazing, the fog leaves a sparkle on the plants behind. Sounds like the perfect morning to me!

Is there anything better than spending the evening with your friends by the river?? Having a picknick, watching the sunset, enjoying the crispy autumn air 🍂💛
I am so grateful to have such good friends. I’ve never been a person with plenty of friends (I can count them on both hands 🤓) and it took me many years to surround myself with people I have meaningful and deep relationships with. Spending time with them recharges my mental battery instead of draining it. This is something I have experienced in a very painful way at school and eventually understood at uni. 😇

Really odd this feeling when you know you’ll most likely never see that one place again 😓 but some places are not meant to be seen twice. Otherwise they might lose their power, their attraction. So I remain grateful to have been to this special place, to the heart of Australia 🧡🇦🇺

A campfire has its own magic. Should do this more often! It’s such a nice way to calm down at the end of the day. 🔥 🏕️

I’ll never get over the beauty of australian sunsets + the sound of the wildlife. It is so much louder here than back home in Germany but beautiful.
