POSTS STORIES REELS

10 weeks of being a mum of two. 🤎

The second time around has taught me that you can know what you’re doing and still feel completely out of your depth.

You can have done this before and still find yourself navigating things you never expected. You can love this season of life and still find parts of it really hard.

I’m learning to give myself a bit more grace this time, to take each day as it comes, and to remember that I don’t have to have everything figured out.

We’re finding our rhythm, and that’s enough for now. 🤍

Current favourite Bible verse: “Love is patient, love is kind.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4 ✝️

What is your hill? Tell me in the comments 👇🏼

Having a second baby has made me realise how much pressure I put on myself with my first.

The tracking. The wake windows. The feeds. The naps. Trying to create “good habits” from day one.

This time, I’m much more comfortable trusting my baby and trusting myself.

If she wants to be cuddled, I’ll cuddle her.
If she wants to feed to sleep, I’ll feed her.
If cosleeping is what gets us through the night, I’m not going to panic about creating a bad habit.

Because they won’t be this little forever.

The newborn days are exhausting, messy and sometimes incredibly hard but they’re also so, so fleeting.

You don’t have to follow the crowd just because everyone else is doing it.

You can choose a different way to raise your children, spend your money, celebrate (or not celebrate) certain occasions, educate your children, use your time and live your life.

You don’t have to justify every decision that looks different from the norm.

You get one life, and you don’t have to spend it following a script you never chose in the first place. 🤍

What is something you’ve chosen to opt out of?

The last book was STRANGE… 😂📚

Our first month of home ed meant lots of reading, a few new favourites and at least one book that left me wondering what on earth we’d just read.

I love building our little home library and finding books that spark curiosity, encourage questions and make learning feel like a natural part of everyday life. We’re keeping home ed fairly relaxed at this age, following Jess’s interests and enjoying lots of stories along the way. 🤎

Now I need your recommendations! What books have your little ones absolutely loved? Leave your favourites in the comments because I’m always looking for our next read. 📖✨

POV: you bought bananas with good intentions and now they’re all going brown 😂🍌

The banana-to-baking pipeline is REAL.

These homemade banana muffins are simple to throw together using everyday ingredients, naturally sweetened with honey and full of cosy cinnamon and allspice. Perfect for using up those overripe bananas! 🤎

🍌 Ingredients
• 3 ripe bananas
• 200g self-raising flour
• 1 egg
• 60g melted butter
• 50g honey
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ¼ tsp allspice
• A pinch of salt

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
2. Mash the bananas in a bowl.
3. Mix in the egg, melted butter and honey.
4. Fold in the self-raising flour, cinnamon, allspice and salt until just combined.
5. Divide the mixture between 10–12 muffin cases.
6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

A simple homemade treat and a lovely way to use up those spotty bananas. 🍌

Save this recipe for your next baking day! 🤎

September, our very first little month of home ed 🌿🤎

Although I use the term home ed quite loosely for now.. she’s only nearly 3, after all. At this age, so much of her learning happens simply by being little, being curious and having the freedom to explore the world around her.

We’ve spent our days outside in sunshine, rain and everything in between, made things with our hands, practised letters, worked on puzzles and fine motor skills, painted, crafted and, most importantly, read so many books. 📚

No rigid routine, no pressure to “keep up”, just following her interests, making little moments of learning part of our everyday life, and enjoying having this time together.

I’m so excited to look back on these little monthly snippets as the years go by.

And because books have been such a huge part of our September, I’ll be sharing a separate post with an overview of everything we’ve been reading together this month. 📖✨

The part of E’s birth story that I’ve found hardest to put into words. 🤍

The birth itself was over so quickly, but what happened afterwards changed the whole experience for me.

It was frightening, overwhelming and honestly one of the most vulnerable moments of my life.

But amongst all of that, there was so much I’m grateful for.

For the people who looked after me.
For the little moments of comfort.
For the fact that I listened to my instincts when something didn’t feel right.

And most of all, for the fact that I got to come home with my baby girl.

The birth I planned wasn’t the birth I got.

But it gave me my daughter. 🤍

And I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

A little re-introduction, because it felt like time to properly say hello again!

I’m Beth, mum of two, homemaker, home educator, lover of the outdoors, slow mornings, homemade food and finding beauty in the everyday.

I’m currently navigating life with a newborn and a three-year-old, learning our new rhythm as a family of four, and slowly building a little creative corner of the internet alongside it all.

Here you’ll find the real, ordinary bits in between - motherhood, home education, homemaking, cooking, getting outside, low-tox living, little adventures and the occasional attempt to drink a cup of tea while it’s still warm. 🫖

Nothing particularly polished. Just our everyday life, as it really is.

So, if you like cosy corners, muddy walks, little people, homemaking and making something beautiful out of ordinary days, I’d love to have you here following along!

Welcome to our little corner.

POV: you want to decorate for autumn but also refuse to spend £200 on pumpkins 🍂😂

I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this birth story for a long time.

Not because I don’t want to remember it, but because it was so different from the birth I had spent my entire pregnancy preparing for.

I had a very clear picture in my head of how I wanted Emily’s arrival to look. And although parts of it didn’t go to plan, there are things about this birth that I’m incredibly grateful for.

There were moments where I had to put my plans aside and trust my instincts instead.

And looking back now, I’m so glad I did. 🤍

This is the story of how our little girl came into the world.

Part 1.

A hungry baby doesn’t need to wait until we’re home.

Breastfeeding in public isn’t something women should have to feel embarrassed about, apologise for, or hide away to do.

If my baby is hungry, I’m going to feed her. Whether we’re at home, in a café, on a park bench or halfway through a day out.

My baby’s needs will always matter more to me than someone else’s discomfort. 🤍

Breastfeeding is normal. Feeding your baby is normal. And women should feel free to feed their babies wherever they need to.

She’s here 🩷

After disappearing from Instagram for the last 10 months, I think it’s finally time I introduced you to the reason why…

Emily 🤍

Born at 42+4 at the end of July, after a pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey that looked nothing like I expected it to.

I’ve got so much to catch you up on! From going overdue, polyhydramnios and the birth I never saw coming, to life as a family of four, tandem feeding, newborn sleep (or lack of it 😅) and finding my feet all over again.

It’s been the most intense, beautiful, exhausting and stretching few weeks of my life.

But we’re here, and I’m so ready to bring you along for this next chapter. 🤍

Welcome to the world, Emily. We’ve been waiting for you. What a blessing you are 🥹

If you’ve been here through my pregnancy, thank you for sticking around. And if you’re new here… you’ve picked a good time to join us. 🫶🏻
